Only change I've made in our lost decade, I no longer let it mess with my family life. Just shrug and carry on.
And no, not apathy. I'm way too happy when we win. More like familiarity![]()
She dedWell Hot Damn Jimmy...better late than never to be serving these hot cakes of interesting takes today..that’s explosive reporting information Jim.

Post needs more upvotesWell...in my family it was about being a Tennessean which I realize a lot of people here aren't. It was about Us vs Them...and growing up in the late 70s early 80s we endured a lot of humiliation, but it was a "Tennessee Volunteers don't quit when they are outmanned" attitude that was drilled into me by my pappaws as they would talk about Tennesseans getting annihilated at the Alamo, or destroying at New Orleans.
And that idea, that underdog stubbornness, was perfectly personified by the 85 Vols and even the 88 Vols in a weird way.
That is why the last few years have rubbed me so raw about the team that represents..US...all the softness and quitting, and don't care is just sickening to me..
Now this team, or at least some few members of this team may have some of those qualities as their default mode still, but I have decided that I am not...the team may not truly represent the..US..that my grandfathers would talk about...but I sure can, so I have made up my mind that I will not quit.
I'm in that boat too. I really don't get upset at our losses anymore. I'm just to the point, in my life, where it really doesn't matter anymore. I love the Vols and have been a diehard fan since the mid 60's. I've traveled to a ton of their away games and had fun doing it. I was at the 98 National Championship game and I guess that was the pinnacle for me. I refuse to get caught up in feeling terrible after losses. Life is good for me in my retirement years. Golf is where it's at for me these days.I think if you were really apathetic, you would not be posting here. These days, if we lose, I don't get upset like I used to. I still want to win, though.
I need a gif of the three of their heads on the bodies of Hogan, Hall, and Nash.@David Ubben heel turn is the biggest since Hogan joined the NWO!!!
We already had Adams & Hyams with their amazing talent, I'm sure glad Knoxville is large enough to pull in the often overlooked talent of Ubben. It's made local sports journalism, nearly untouchable that's for sure!
