Change coming?

This may be weird but I figured I'd bring it up since I've noticed it for a while. Have you all ever noticed JGs eyes when they show him before a play? I've noticed you can tell if he's confident in himself or a play or not almost every time. Usually if he has a halfway confused or out of it look in his eyes the play usually ends up going bad. I dont have any clips to prove this and it may be coincidence but if it is true, how can that be fixed? If he doesnt have confidence in the play or himself, he is obviously not going to execute as well as he should.

This team needs all the support we can give them.

The coaches we have now are not responsible for the last 12 years, and over half the players on the team are not responsible for the last 4 years.

Get there and get loud. I still believe Pruitt can get it going, still a few sensitive apples we have to get out first.
Sunshine pumpers never go away. These are the people that don't care about football. These are the people that are okay with participation trophies. These are the people that go to the games for the social event and hang out with the opponents and tailgate afterwards. Sunshine Pumpers don't really care about winning. Tennessee has more than anybody and that's one reason why we suck all the time.

I know that. I'm talking about him getting pulled this game when he comes out and misses receivers by 3-feet again.

Saw a stat this morning from PFF where only 42% of his passes against BYU were accurate.

If that happens, much as I want him to do very well, at some point the team's success has to take priority.

So your theory is every should be surly and criticize every aspect of the program and we will win. I am sure that will do the trick.

I wonder if Eric Ainge will be still playing Jeremy Pruitt's cheerleader if Tennessee wins 2 or less games?:D

Erik Ainge hasn't really been playing his cheerleader this year. He beat on JP pretty hard after he learned that we'd been prepping for other opponents in the weeks before the game instead of (as a team that had won 9 games in two years) focusing on the task at hand....

No actually my theory is when they give you something to compliment you compliment but if they lay an egg and look horrible you don't reward that. I will Heap on praise if they deserve it, but it seems we have a lot of fans sing to be okay with the product we have and are willing to even send a message with their money that they are okay with it. As long as people are willing to spend their money watching a bad product the product will always remain bad.

He was never a "backup" QB. He was being held back until he understood the system and had adapted to the college football environment.

He was third string behind Colquitt and Helton and tied with Branndon Stewart for that third spot. He emerged as more when the first two got hurt and he understood the offense more so he got the nod. Made him the definition of a backup.

I don't think JG has played well at all, but this is petty **** to keep bringing this up. It was three years ago and came after he was in the exact situation Maurer is in now, sitting on the bench while the starter stunk up the joint. And it was compounded by Butch lying to him. Let it go, man.
Who specifically said that Jones "lied" to him?

I think we've seen some indications of this attitude since. But generally, why shouldn't he be happy since? Jones kept the "competition" open until he won it... then immediately closed it. Jones wanted him to be the starter and was frustrated by the fact that Dormady pretty clearly beat him out and had the confidence of guys like John Kelly.

Dormady struggled which eventually gave Jones the excuse to do what he wanted to do from the start.

One other thing that has continued to bother me was a "fluff" piece earlier in the year describing how JG was taking the OL's out for ice cream or something like that to build rapport. The simple question in my mind is if a 4th year QB is established as a team leader and is central in the locker room... why would something like this be necessary?

"Chemistry" is a real thing in a football team. If they're still trying to make JG the "leader of the offense" at this point... that's big trouble.

Ok reading tea leaves here. But if you go to his tweet and look at the comments...someone says " I would be there if you were the QB." If you click on that comment, click on the likes, you can see who liked it. Maurer liked that comment. My guess, he's playing.

Agree, but the resident tools on the board are taking it as an opportunity to trash JG again and take personal shots at him. JG has done nothing but stay out of trouble and do the best that he can to play QB at UT. So he’s not good enough, most of us agree on that. But to take personal shots at him says more about the immaturity of some of our fans than it does about JG.
Who do you think has taken a particularly personal shot at him? Not being a smart aleck. I don't think we should make this personal either. I just haven't seen anything I thought was just overly personal.

His sideline behavior is fair game if it can help explain what's going on with the team right now.
