A gunslinger is not an asset by default...

And he's not just a gunslinger. He controls the defense with his arm, legs and tempo. Eventually he will learn to do it with his eyes.

His skill-set is what the asset is. He's a cerebral QB that carries his team.
The term gunslinger is a word that seems to have multiple definitions depending on the person. I mean it as in hell throw into tight windows without hesitation. But I agree with you as I usually do

2nd and 18 12 seconds left no timeouts from BYU's 10 yard line Jg should have tackle him off the bench. Defense lost this game sorry
Unbelievable comment! Yeah the defense screwed up on that play, no question! Look at the number of screw ups JG made! We should have never been in that position!

I feel so badly for Jarrett cause I think he really tries his best and wants to win. But his decision-making is just too slow. How many times did the commentators say that he’s holding on to the ball for too long? He went to every camp there was and worked all summer and he’s doing the same thing he did last year when the offensive line got all the blame. The season isn’t a wash. We have the SEC games in front of us. If we could win a couple of those with a new qb, hope would be renewed. I’m also questioning Pruitt’s ability as a head coach. I’m from the south and I talk country but I do use proper grammar. If I hear him say “I seen” one more time, I’m gonna scream! Lol Ofcourse if he were 2-0 right now, it wouldn’t bother me nearly as much.

Sure he tries and wants to win, but it is clear that his brain operates two seconds too slow to be a quarterback in college football, much less the SEC. SEC teams are going to tear him apart.

I saw more motivation tonight by the team as a whole, JG had more time in the pocket, the OL was able to create a few holes in the run game, but because of JG we are one dimensional. Chaney knows it and that’s why we are limited to calling plays that work around our weak QB. The overall team looked a little better which further highlighted JG’s deficiencies as a QB. There needs to be a change. With JG under center we may have a winless season.

They played very well tonight, we had well over 200 rushing yards. They aren’t the problem, JG is.

Agreed! They played extremely well for being a one dimensional offense. When your opponent knows your QB is a disaster and your going to run the ball and you can still pull off 200 rushing yards.... QB change is a must or we should just throw in the towel for the rest of the season.

A lot of wives don’t know much about football, but I have one that does. Watches the Combine, NFL Draft, does fantasy football, etc. the full deal. She’ll sit down and watch some UT football and loved that I love it.

She heard me claim that I sincerely believed we’d take a step this year to 7-5 or 8-4 with a hardcore dream of 9-3...she watched the first half and half of the third and finally looked at me and said “I’ve seen enough of your QB. I’ve never seen a less confident QB in my life. The kids looks like he’s gonna screw up every time he touches the ball and either does or almost does 3/4 of the time. I have NO IDEA how you ever thought you’d win many games with him as your starter.”

Ouch. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Honestly, we are 0-2. We have nothing to lose. Give one of them a whole year of basically pre season reps at this point cause our season is over.

The game experience will be very helpful next year whether they stay the starter or back up Bailey. It will also cause a much better QB battle.

Also, if we see any promise in one of them it at least gives us hope.

We all just want some bit of hope right now.

Tried believing in that guy. I don't know if he'd be much better with the line being more effective, but I don't believe so at this point. He's reached his zenith and it just isn't good enough for Tennessee. We need a Clemson decision here. Make the move, live with the consequences. Gonna lose anyways. At least get these two figured out for next year and JG can grad transfer out of here.

JG is a horrible quarterback. His inability to make pre-snap reads and to get the ball downfield to open receivers is stunning. Why can't the coaches see what 97% of the fans see and make a change. This year might be the year we don't win a single game if they keep that clown at quarterback.

I will refer you to my thread a started I think Sat maybe Sun following last weeks loss entitled
BENCH JG FOR THE BYU GAME

Cause again, the freshman can complete a pass to NFL wide receivers.
It's not the O line fault.
JG was in the dirt all last season.
He does not have awareness. He is toast.

You got nothing to lose by throwing in Shrout, Mauer, or the transfer this week against UTC.

IF Mauer or Shrout don't make it, you can still redshirt one of them.

AND the transfer has college game experience.

GIVE IT A SHOT...YOU CAN'T GET ANY MORE EMBARRASSED.
The transfer isn’t eligible

JG took 14 points off the board with late/underthrown balls.

The guy is a moron and is as awful a QB as Butch was a head coach
Believe me, I completely understand being frustrated but there’s absolutely no excuse for calling JG a moron. That’s too far man. He’s a kid and a kid that’s out there getting drilled time and time again for your entertainment. Maybe you should go try it and see how easy it is to play QB.
