It was 31 rushing, not 21.

40 passes to 31 rushes and the last 10 plays were pass attempts because we were behind. You can't run the ball during the 2 minute drill from behind, with the clock ticking. Agree to disagree.

hes from JG in which 3 were qb sneaks and 1 run that i remember where he slid short of the first down. Try again. It should have been reversed as far as rushing attempts to passes, especially with an average at best qb and an oline that struggled as much as they did last year.

A miniscule fraction of the fan base tweets garbage at players. A miniscule amount of the earth's population are serial killers. There's just going to be people in life who suck and no amount of reasoning will change their minds. If you're a public figure who is getting your feez hurt by a few internet trolls, then stop giving them power by reading their sputum and responding to them. And certainly don't make the mistake of taking what a few Twitter idiots say to be the general consensus of the fan base.

The realization of this would help, not just here, but everywhere. People worry about stuff said on Twitter and social media way, way, way too much.

"Journalists" feed off of it by creating bogus articles based on "what Twitter said." It's insane. It's like using man on the street interviews to prove some kind of point in a news segment. It's insufficient data. But it's the low-hanging fruit. And with so many people on Twitter, it's not hard to find something to get enraged about.

The same thing happens here. "I said such and such last week, and 'everyone' called me an idiot."

No, two people called you an idiot. The rest of us didn't comment.

Ahhh! Bruining it. 😎

If JG continues to struggle I believe this will happen. Probably after the gauntlet is over near the end of October. Pruitt will have to do something to invigorate the team after all the losses. JG just can’t play high Div 1 football.

If he doesn’t start playing with more swag, urgency and confidence he won’t be starting for long. Entire first half I was like why is he taking so long. No rhythm just non chalantly huddling and calling plays. No attacking downfield protecting himself I guess.

Then you should have adjusted the yards also, if that's what you meant. "Try again".

But, already checked each play by play, minus from behind at the end, even with JGs runs, we were barely below 50/50 and that was even with Pruitt pulling Chandler.
But think what you want, don't care.

You have to count the JG non sneak runs as pass plays. It was no where close to 50/50.

I counted, you just keep refusing to remove the had to pass throws, at the end.
Last I'm saying to you, keep yapping if you need to.

No doubt the end of the game made the ratio worst but the ratio was still not an even mix before the last drives where we were down 2 scores. Chaney went pass happy when a long impose your will taking the lead Drive was exactly what we needed

feels like/looks like everyone, including JG, is just waiting for "someone else" to make a play to get things started.....

i hate harping on single plays, but that slide short of the first down......i just didn't like it. it was the "smart" play from a protect yourself and the football standpoint....but you needed that first down. go get it, and get a little physical in the process. show your teammates this means something to you and that getting that extra 4 feet is freaking important!!!!!

those, to me, are the kind of plays that get infectious, and as they continue NOT to be made, they are the little things that pile up after a while and keep us down.....

i don't hate JG. but i don't think he's a good leader. i think everyone knows he's "tough". but he's still shell shocked from the last year and a half. i've seen him make great throws.....i know he has the phsyical tools. hate to see them not put to good use.

this team needs someone to go make plays come hell or high water.......

a "what do we say to the god of death? NOT EFFING TODAY!!!!" type moment.

i'm thinking Kangaroo gif. playtime is over mfrs....let's go.

Here's my take ...

Kids have no loyalty. They commit to a University not out of blood loyalty but because of promises given and perceived opportunity. Our roster isn't full of in state life long UT fans.

We, as Vols fans, live and die by this team. We bleed orange.

These kids (painting with a broad brush but still I'd venture to say 95% at least) weren't Vols fans growing up. Hell, UT has sucked for most if not all of their lives. Most came here under promises given under a previous staff, and have been through hell while on campus here. The past few years has been a complete **** show. Hell, one of the kids recently came out this off season and said they didn't even get enough food because of Butch's lack of nutritional program. There's been no S&C, so many haven't developed and they've seen friends and teammates medically retire at an alarming rate, etc. It's been hell.

And I know it was recently tweeted that most of the remaining players on the roster are Pruitt recruits, but lets be honest, that '18 class was mostly Butch kids plus a handful that CJP and staff were able to throw together in three weeks.

Bottom line is, we as fans literally hurt when the team loses. Some of the players do, some don't. They don't bleed orange. It isn't just a Tennessee issue. Just look at the transfer portal updates - few kids anywhere have loyalty to any program. They go where they go for the best opportunity. So combine all the reasons why the lack of genuine loyalty to UT exists, coupled with the frustration a lot of these kids deal with with this program, and the basic toxic atmosphere that comes with social media, twitter especially (I've long thought twitter is basically a haven for extremists and trolls - just check out a political or 'racial' subject for proof), and it is what it is.

Fans need to get over themselves. Stop @'ing the players and expecting them to not respond when they're being insulted or ridiculed.
Fantastic post. You’ve hit the nail on the head.

He just doesn’t have “IT”. From the Spring game you could see that Maurer has exactly the swag, urgency, and confidence but he’s a true freshman prone to more mistakes. Is he better today than JG? I don’t know but maybe you just take the risk and play him and JT anyway.

I asked this yesterday without much discussion but it seems relevant. Crompton was a qb that had way more criticism heading his way after the UCLA game than JG does now.

I know a lot of folks credit Lane for turning him into a very respectable QB but just how involved was Chaney in that good Turn around??

Holy crap, had never used ignore seriously before. When I played around with it years ago, it gave you a "this message is hidden" comment.

Now, nothing. It's like they don't even exist. This is glorious.

Welcome to the club.

However, it’s like you still get one side of the asinine banter.

agree on the "it" factor. but as for him or someone else starting, just depends. the coaches see them every day in practice, so they "know" what they have. we saw a few series in a spring game and the media sees routes vs air in 10 minutes or whatever of open practice.

they value experience, and i can't blame them on the one hand.

i'll be interested to see the overall tenor of this team the next couple weeks. JG has all the physical tools.....time to see them put to good use.

Lol

Are you reading my post ???

I’m saying it wasn’t a called pass play. It was a called running play that the RB or Qb busted and then the qb just threw it quickly after the bust

Sure man...busted play = audible, totally makes sense.

No wonder you're on everyone's ignore list...smh do you man. I'm not going to keep engaging lol

WTH?

You seriously think a busted play is the same thing as an audible?

Rogers went the wrong day dude. That’s not an audible. That’s a busted run play where the qB just threw it away while the entire team blocked for a run

Mercy the football ignorance around here is hard to understand sometimes.

so tried that bait yesterday and it didn't work, so you're trying it out again today?

good strategy. as i say to all fishermen.......good luck.
