Did I think we found the right guy? Absolutely

Is he the right guy? Meh times gonna tell

What stings is Phil’s short list was Pruitt/ Steele/ Mel Tucker... Tucker just destroyed his in state rival in his first game. Maybe Phil got it wrong.. I dunno.

With that being said, it would not surprise me one bit to see Tennessee come out and set the world on fire next week and put up a 52-14 on BYU. Maybe this staff/ players will start coaching/playing pissed off and put a product on the field that’s something to be proud of... time will tell

Four million is nothing. Fire that piss 🐜. He has, pay five and do it after he loses to UTC. Had ignored comments from parents that he ignored everyone except HIS guys. But this is starting to make sense why we see a lack of passion perhaps. Half the team hates him and have checked out. He probably thinks he has four plus years here regardless and is throwing another year away.

Yeah, I hate him.
Yeah, $4M is nothing really. They’ll lose that in ticket sales this year.

It’ll take four wins or less for them to fire him. Unless he makes an ass of himself in the process.

Well guys and girls, it has been a long time since I posted here. I posted shortly after my father died in November. Since that time I have also lost my stepfather and my dog. What a crazy 10 months it has been. Perspective has been brought to my life and I rarely read or post here anymore. After watching yesterdays game, I decided to. As much as I want our team to be great again, it is still only a game and one that I will enjoy each week with my family and friends regardless of the outcome. I am way less emotional about the outcome of Tennessee games. Coach Pruitt needs to go young with this team and take the lumps much like the coach at Ga State did last year. Although it pains me to say this, the QB position is the one of greatest need in this department. I think very highly of JG as a man. Unfortunately, when the lights come on, he's several steps too slow. Not sure if its related to confidence or reading a defense. Probably both. He fires balls too hard at receivers that are close. He throws balls consistently behind his playmakers. He holds the ball way too long. He holds the ball too long. HE HOLDS THE BALL TOO LONG. There were times the young line gave him a clean pocket for 5 seconds and he still took sacks. His inability to lead an efficient offense will cause our defense to look worse than it is. We have playmakers all over the field. On the first play from scrimmage, Callaway was wide open at the top of the screen and would've been 6. Outside of 1 sack, they were his fault. He is nowhere near as athletic as I thought he'd be and loses his footing in the pocket. He never maximizes his scrambles and even looks slow to me. I would rather see our young qb's get reps if we're going to take L's. Anyway, I hope all are well. Be discouraged but not broken Vols. We'll win a game or two we shouldn't.

This is exactly what needs to happen.

I can’t see them doing it. Catastrophic season 3 wins or less maybe. I said it yesterday if that performance was anywhere other than Tennessee the coach would get fired. We had a debacle of a search and to fire him after two seasons would kill any chance of hiring a quality coach. Who would want to come to this dumpster fire with a chance of being ran out after a couple of years? Administration has proven they will not pay top dollar so what up and comer wants to chance their future?

We are screwed if this plays out
You’ve got to do what Currie did, but with someone sure fire. Lined up for weeks before the “firing.”

Copy/Paste from the FF. Doug Matthews comments this morning

He’s greatly impressed with Ga State.
Vols looked confused, lackadaisical, unaware, no sense of urgency.
Poor performance by entire coaching staff.
Nobody showed any emotion.
Not a single position group outplayed GaState.
This was a bad loss, started with the coaches.
Devastating loss.
He’ll always back Vols 100%, but understands why fans are sick of it and why they won’t.
Believes head coach and coordinators are very good.

No pass rush, ILB and OLB awful in pass coverage.

Problem on offense began with Guarantano, played with no emotion, played robotically, poor decisions with where to throw the ball.

Offensive line was awful, coaches need to play their best 5, didn’t understand all the substitutions.

Didn’t understand Chandler getting benched, he’s our “bellcow” rb.

Chaney has to do a much better job calling the game. Has great respect, but he did a poor job.

This is ALL on the coaching staff...team not prepared, coaches with no enthusiasm.

As bad as we played, the SECE is horrible.

Lmao. Yes, get your petty shots in Ubben.

He should be thankful we are terrible. Nothing generates more clicks than a coaching search
He has a point. It’s stupud. Nfl teams have literally open training camps to the public. This isn’t some Soviet Union spy camp. Let the fans/media in.

At this point, I'm wondering if Pruitt is Holly Warlick-- a great assistant who's not cut out to be HC at a demanding program like UT-- or just a guy with a steep learning curve. The HC job is still too much for him and he does best when he can focus on one thing. UT has taken virtually everything but coaching off his plate and he still can't get the guys game-ready and put a prepared team on the field.

He's a hired gun-- and that comes with limitations-- but is he really invested in UT at the level he needs to be? He seems to resent spending time with donors, fans, the media and the community, and UT allows him to sidestep that part of the job whenever possible. The downside to that is he's not going to have the support he needs-- and he's going to need it.

What does Fulmer do? He must have opinions. He knows what good coaching looks like. It’s his responsibility. Surely he does something, but what?

Fulmer isn’t AD for life. He’s hanging by a thread as well. Haslams are still lurking in the shadows and are eager to regain power by installing another stooge. He’s gotta move very very carefully.

This is so, so much worse than ANY other loss. In the past we were upset when we lost but excited to know the used car salesmen would get fired and we would hire a great coach. There was still hope the program could recover. But nope, we mess it up yet again.

Tennessee will go down as THE worst run program of all time in D1 football.

I spoke with my father last night. He’s been a diehard fan since the 60s. We were both in agreement that Tenn is arguably the worst run program in all of college football and sports in general.

Agreed. I firmly and whole heartedly believe that Coach Pruitt is the biggest reason why the Big Orange Caravan was canned this past off-season.
