That's what has put s in the position we're in now. Holding onto coaches one year too long. Dooley wanted out and we made him stay leaving the program in exponentially worse shape. Butch wanted out and we let him milk the program completely dry. If you know it's not going to work, and by the end of this season you'll know whether it's going to work, if it's not, you have to move on. Hope is all weve had to sell formthe last several years. Remove the hope and weve got nothing. A new coach will inspire some hope.Georgia State went 2 - 10 and just beat an SEC Team in their coaches 3rd year. All coaches deserve a 3rd year period. After that 3rd year you make a decision to cut him or keep him.
Head coach sets the tone..Once I see "JG did fine" or "JG wasn't the problem" - I stop reading. The QB sets the tone and is the primary leader of the team - not just his side of the ball The team takes their lead, confidence and inspiration from his performance. That's why they make so much money in the NFL. They are the generals that the troops give their all for and with - or not. That's reality, not some message board fantasy.
Remove the last drive stats from JG's performance against GSU since they were playing soft and the clock. Watch the game again and be real. Worst QB in the SEC as a 4th year player. Instead of blaming it on having the four different OC's and some different QB coaches- don't you think that it is telling that he has not improved significantly despite having 4 different OC's and other QB coaches? Not one of the them has been able to improve his level of play significantly. Yet, because he is a practice show pony who says the right things he gets trotted out there week after week. W's and L's, people. He is a major, direct cause of more L's than W's.
Start over at QB or collect your buy-out, Pruitt. Stop cross training players, Pruitt. They need to be able to handle one job they are best suited for first before doing that. Find guys that are willing to mix it up and destroy on D. They look like chess pieces instead of football players.
Coming back or showing some damn heart and beating a less talented Ga. St. team would've made it alright. Nothing this team is going to do the rest of the season will make that loss ok with me. There is flat out no excuse for it. The coach acted like he didn't care and most of the players acted the same way.Frankly, I'd rather beat Florida and BYU than GA State. Ugly loss for sure, but beating Florida would make everything alright. Not expecting that to happen at this point, but it would certainly show that this team has fight in them after an embarrassing opener.
Wanya playing guard in a game or in practice is literally a lack of every leadership principle. Wanya needs to perfect the left tackle position everyday. Everyday he needs to focus on left tackle, nothing else. He needs to Master it. Instead you insert confusion and doubt to an 18 year old. Sounds like a losing formula. Lack of leadership top down.
Why were we running right before halftime? They should have immediately come out and gone shotgun and no huddle. That’s what Chaney did last year at Georgia. But, that’s not what they did yesterday.
