Mass Shooting in Ohio

No Rush is actually plenty sane. The Constituion is not a living breathing document as many on the left would like for it to be. Unfortunately you have been indoctrinated to think this way. When people are OK with Abortion, Homosexuality, Sex out of Wedlock, etc, they have lost their way. This country needs to get back to God.

This country never was with god and despite loons like you that want to frame it that way it never will be.

The reason the constitution works so well is that it is written in terms that can be applied to a variety of situations. Thomas Jefferson acknowledged as much when he said, "But I know also, that laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths disclosed, and manners and opinions change with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also, and keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy, as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors."

That's why there is an amendment process and GOD was a very BIG part of our country and laws. Judeo-Christian Values had much to do with our values and laws. Our money today still says "IN GOD WE TRUST", but many of you do not to your own demise.

That was added during the cold war to upset the ruskies. There's a reason the Constitution was written without any religious wording included

And there is a reason that amending the constitution is difficult... it is because the Constitution uses language that can be applied to an evolving society.

On paper money but it has been on coins since 1864:

The Congress passed the Act of April 22, 1864. This legislation changed the composition of the one-cent coin and authorized the minting of the two-cent coin. The Mint Director was directed to develop the designs for these coins for final approval of the Secretary. IN GOD WE TRUST first appeared on the 1864 two-cent coin.

Another Act of Congress passed on March 3, 1865. It allowed the Mint Director, with the Secretary's approval, to place the motto on all gold and silver coins that "shall admit the inscription thereon." Under the Act, the motto was placed on the gold double-eagle coin, the gold eagle coin, and the gold half-eagle coin. It was also placed on the silver dollar coin, the half-dollar coin and the quarter-dollar coin, and on the nickel three-cent coin beginning in 1866. Later, Congress passed the Coinage Act of February 12, 1873. It also said that the Secretary "may cause the motto IN GOD WE TRUST to be inscribed on such coins as shall admit of such motto."

The use of IN GOD WE TRUST has not been uninterrupted. The motto disappeared from the five-cent coin in 1883, and did not reappear until production of the Jefferson nickel began in 1938. Since 1938, all United States coins bear the inscription.

A law passed by the 84th Congress (P.L. 84-140) and approved by the President on July 30, 1956, the President approved a Joint Resolution of the 84th Congress, declaring IN GOD WE TRUST the national motto of the United States. IN GOD WE TRUST was first used on paper money in 1957, when it appeared on the one-dollar silver certificate. The first paper currency bearing the motto entered circulation on October 1, 1957.

1864? Surprised they didn't add "... Unless you're black"

The Constitution was deliberately written by some very smart people.

And there is a reason that amending the constitution is difficult... it is because the Constitution uses language that can be applied to an evolving society.
It should be applied but not changed unless Amended. Unfortunately Liberal Judges have abused that process and make law from the bench.

Look up who wrote the pledge
Don't really care. I like it as it is though and hope it stays that way. It's too bad that so many on this board do not share my Love for God. This is why our country is heading in the wrong direction and why we have these senseless killings.

Of course you don't care since it would blow up your point. Pledging allegiance to an idol seems to be an odd stance for you.

Nope. Love for country and the Almighty. Patriotism. I guess you have none of that. This is what's wrong with our country.
You're pledging allegiance to an inanimate object. Blindly doing so is absolutely an issue

Here is our Pledge. Do you not love this Country or God? You need to understand the whole thing brother. You guys are so lost.

I Pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic
for which it stands,
one Nation under God,
indivisible, with liberty and justice for all
.
