Goodness, I wasn't on here at all last night. Log on today to see what all I missed, and man...that Antonio Johnson decommit got people jumping off the Gay Street Bridge, didn't it? Suddenly, Pruitt and his staff can't recruit and this class is disappointing right now.

People are weak.

I don't think Johnson has even visited, has he?

Have you already forgotten the Butch Jones years???

I would take elite developers over elite recruiters 10 times out of 10. Bryce Thompson was a composite 89 and was arguably the best freshman DB in the country. Nobody gets too excited about an 89, but he outperformed all those 5 stars that we missed out on on NSD.

"I'd rather have elite recruiting than a coach who can make our QB (the most fu*cking important position in football) better" is without a doubt the dumbest thing I've ever read on here. Mercy.
How much better you think JG can be with our OL? We got outscored by 25 or more 6 times last year. Timing and footwork drills ain't making up for that. With the teams we face every year, we cannot be competitive without elite talent.

Just imagine if we lose to BYU

If it’s within 30 the usual cast will be telling us how Pruitt isn’t gonna get it done here

How much better will this O line be compared to last years?
Hard to say with the 2 freshmen and uncertainty about Trey. Mays started 7 games for UGA last season. I'd guess that's the best we can hope for with our Freshmen. Maybe Trey is able to give some plays later in the season. Best case, we may be a little better halfway through the season.

If we had a top 5 class right now, we would lose them if the season is a failure. The class we have before the season starts will improve if the season is successful. The more successful the better the class. This used to be understood. The early signing day has caused more players to want to commit before the season which has made it harder for teams needing good seasons to help with recruiting. It is just where we are. Not a thing we can do about it.

So true, the early signing period has been a game-changer in a lot of ways.

so, you think everything will be the same as last year then?

we were 4-7, and by the way you're posting, if the jump from that isn't to 10-2, then it's not worth making the leap? if not i'm not following.

the whole team should be 'better'. what does that translate to? 7 wins? 8? 6? dunno. but the answer to your questions is a very simple "i don't know".

but i think we we all expect there to be improvement. and considering just how bad some of the offensive play was last year, there's a lot of room for fairly large jump, that still won't necessarily garner elite results.

I’m sure that is true which means our class should look very similar to Auburns with them going thru the same type thing. The issue is it doesn’t look like it right now

Because some of the guys we really want aren't committing till fall. So we either take commitments from Plan Cs or play the long game. The coaches are playing the long game. So they must think they have a pretty good hand.

The returners have had a whole off season with Fitz too. I think the Oline will be better as a whole.
