House Democrats on Thursday passed legislation to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour by October 2025, but Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is refusing to bring it up in his chamber, sending the fight to the campaign trail.

The passage was a big win for workers and labor groups, even as it remained unlikely the bill would pass a Republican-controlled Senate.

McConnell ruled out the possibility in an interview on Fox Business Network's 'Mornings with Maria.'

'It would cost, according to the Congressional Budget Office between one and three million jobs lost. We don't need to lose jobs. We don't have enough jobs now. There are more people looking for work than there are jobs available. That's how hot the economy is. This would depress the economy at a time of economic boom,' he said.

'We're not going to be doing that in the Senate.'

Kamala Harris promises 'you can keep your doctor' on 'Medicare for All'

"Medicare for All" won't endanger your relationship with your doctor, according to Kamala Harris.

Harris, a senator for California and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, echoed a promise made by former President Barack Obama about his signature healthcare legislation during an appearance on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live late Wednesday.

"People think, 'Well, maybe is this going to mean that I need to, that I'll have to worry about not being able to see my doctor,'" Harris told Kimmel. "Ninety-one percent of the doctors in America are in Medicare. And those that are not are mostly pediatricians, the 9%. And you know why they're not in Medicare because Medicare doesn't cover children. But when we have 'Medicare for All' that will not be any longer the case, which means that the vast majority of doctors will be in that system, and you can keep your doctor under that system."

I’ve always had the opinion since I was making minimum wage in the early 90’s that every step I took to get away from it and make more money was an accomplishment. And when the.gov raised the minimum wage I was due a raise of exactly what the .gov raised it by. It’s a base salary for the rest of the pay scale. You run a cash register at the local beer store for 15 bucks an hour instead of 7.25 then every skilled position above that needs a 6.75 an hour raise. So if they pass this millions of workers who are still paid by the hour for our skills should demand a raise.

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernard Sanders teamed up Thursday with Rep. Ilhan Omar for a fundraising pitch in response to the crowd at President Trump’s rally chanting “send her back.”

“Ilhan Omar is a leader with strength and courage. She won’t back down to Trump’s racism and hate, and neither will we,” Mr. Sanders wrote in the email to supporters.

He asked for a donation of $2.70, which is a nod to 270 electoral votes need to win the presidential election. The money would be split between the Sanders presidential campaign and Ms. Omar’s re-election campaign, he said.

By embracing Ms. Omar, who has been criticized for using anti-Semitic tropes and for being an apologist for Islamic terrorist, Mr. Sanders seeks to reinvigorate his far-left campaign.

“She knows, as we do, that Trump is a demagogue doing what he does best: dividing and conquering through hate,” said Mr. Sanders, who is Jewish.

Regarding college records: Basically, what they concluded was that Barack Obama's records were neither hidden or sealed... that would be illegal. He just hasn't authorized Occidental, Columbia or Harvard Law to release them, but they do exist. And guess what? Trump has not authorized any of his former academic institutions to release his academic records either... and in fact, he has even proactively threatened to sue them if they did. Your premise is not only completely based on a lie... it is also hypocritical. Trump hasn't been any more transparent about his academic career than Obama was. However, you aren't complaining about that are you?

Why hasn't Trump disclosed his transcripts? Trump threatened to sue any of his former schools who released his transcripts. What does he have to hide? Does he not want us to know what his GPA was in college? Maybe that would explain why he stopped at a Bachelor's degree? Hmmm.
