To be honest, because of the injury year last year, 12 months to work out might not be the worst case scenario for Solomon. But it kills our DL depth this year.
The strength of this team will be the back end. The back 7 will make the front 4 look decent.Without Solomon, we'll be relying on these guys in the 2-deep:
Emmit Gooden
Matthew Butler
Greg Emerson
Kivon Bennett
John Mincey
Kingston Harris
Savion Williams
Daryl Middleton
Elijah Simmons
Key:
Has accumulated stats in at least 6 games in 2018
Has at least one year in the program
Is in the first year in the program
We already knew we'd be relying on some unknowns. And Solomon has the tools, but was too injured at Michigan to be the force he was recruited as. Big 'if' here, but IF we can rely on three DL outside of Butler and Gooden, we should be serviceable at the minimum.
I thought Bennett moved to olb. But I still think every player on that list has a good amount of potential to be good players this year. Also add Garland. We may not have a lot of returning production on the dl but that is potentially a pretty solid 3 deep rotation. Solomon would probably help but I don't think it would kill us if the waiver got denied.Without Solomon, we'll be relying on these guys in the 2-deep:

Don't forget Harrison and Bennett. And AllenI sure hope so. LB 2-Deep as
Darrell Taylor/DeAndre Johnson
Bituli/Ignont
And then JJP, Hank, Crouch, and Reid filling out the other two spots.
Btw, a little off topic, but we need to get the 'Hank and Tank' trademark going. Swain was the one who said To'oto'o goes by Hank, so...
Biggest weakness and biggest strength from positions groups for 2019. What you guys got?
IMO:
Strength - DB
Weakness - DL
Serviceable across the board for offense.
Without Solomon, we'll be relying on these guys in the 2-deep:
Emmit Gooden - .8933 ****
Matthew Butler - .8725 ***
Greg Emerson - .9441 ****
John Mincey - .8614 ***
Kingston Harris - .8452 ***
Ja'Quain Blakely - .8649 ***
Savion Williams - .8913 ****
Darel Middleton - .8702 ***
Elijah Simmons - .8734 ***
Kurott Garland - .8466 ***

Emmerson, Harris and Garland are all redshirt freshmen and Mincey is a true sophomore. I don't think we can write any of them off yet. All 4 have had a full year and offseason to develop now and may be ready to contribute.Added 24/7 stars & composite as well as the rest of the DL listed on Summer Roster that were missing and removed those not listed as DL.
Ultimately we need to see everyone play above their rating honestly. Be nice if Emerson could emerge as the highly rated 4 star he is and he's just a Redshirt FR so it's not likely he should be written off yet.
