I was just clarifying cause I know it was left open and I hadn’t heard anything previously, I also think it’s noteworthy because it likely means you’re going to have some quality players available in late June.

I'd disagree with that. I don't think any school is going to leave a declared player as a free agent. They simply would make room other ways

Not sure I agree with that, do I think some would? Sure, but not all. Gonna be a bad look to run a kid off in June/July with almost no options, and there’s also the chance returning player lets it known he would prefer a different school anyhow...I’m guessing you’ll see some guys take advantage of this rule and change schools.

Hell let’s say you’re Jalen Johnson, you’ve used your redshirt year and aren’t graduating, declare and go undrafted and when Tennessee fills your spot BOOM...you’re immediately eligible.

Asking Kent to take a hike or letting Bone go play for Kentucky.

That's a good loophole If the rule is really there. I have my doubts but it would make some sense for it to be a rule

Yikes! Great speculation to start the day! Ear and eye muffs!:eek:

I really hope Bone realizes where he will sit on the national point guard ladder next year if he returns. Top 3 or 4 at worst. With another good team year, some additional personal improvement, he's a first round draft choice in 2020.

I thought he was gone all along. He just had that look that he was ready to move on and grab for the cash. I don't know what I would have done in his situation, probably the same.

It’ll be interesting to see if kids take advantage of the loop hole, they did with the run-off rule and so NCAA changed it, could be similar with the draft...roster management has gotten tougher and tougher every year for college coaches. I would probably run with 11-12 scholarships a year if I were a coach, so much movement and late deadlines now that make it really difficult if you’re constantly at 13.

Not everybody goes to Europe and comes back to the NBA, most go to other 3rd world teams.

I really enjoyed that 145-123 game this past weekend. Lots of guys taking that D seriously in a playoff game. I can only imagine how serious that D is in a regular season game

Just because the points are high doesn’t mean teams aren’t playing defense.

Wasnt Scotty Hopson just the opposite? I think I recall between his freshman and sophomore season they worked on trying to take some of the arch out of his shot. In your opinion, what problems tend to arise by consistently having to much arch in a shot?

Correct. Scotty’s drew rain when it came back down. Mathematically speaking...geometric really, too much arc is better than too little. The disadvantage to a high arcing shot is much less but it does mean you have to exert more energy to shoot the ball since it travels a greater distance. Maybe a little tougher to judge your aim, as well. Truth be told, it’s all about repetition. Even an ugly shot can consistently fall with enough practice. Reggie Miller, Larry Bird, and Bill Cartwright are evidence of that.

Well I watch NBA Basketball (less this year, a lot more hockey) and teams play defense. All teams aren’t crisp in the regular season, that’s been NBA basketball forever.

The Nets scored 115 points last night, but shot 40% from the field and 20.5% from 3. The NBA is so much faster and with all the three point shooting it makes a lot more possessions available.
