Bone packed it up today

He could be as good Ja if he worked at it... he has the ability, maybe even more athletic.
Ja is a completely different type of player than bone, and honestly though he’s not as talented Bone is probably already the more polished of the two.

Another way to look at it, it elevated Barnes status being wanted by UCLA. Most coaches would take that job over any SEC school except UK, so don't think it's a negative.

And supposedly he would have taken it and would be gone had they covered the buy out.

Come on. There is zero reason to question how hard Bone has worked

Not questioning his work ethic. I think he could get to Ja's level with another year at UT. Bone obviously thinks he is better off in G-league or Europe than at UT.

Hmm, I see Ja at #2 in the consensus draft and Bone not listed, I think it's the other way around.

I seen a list of under classmen that declared. I didn't count them but it had to be over 100. Seen Bone was rated #33 PG many other PGs were rated higher. He will have to turn heads at the combine or he is going all out for it and has European ball as a fall back. His Sr year would help UT but not sure how much it would help his status probably be about the same this time next year.

He better look at the Ball brothers Europe adventure -- its not glamorous over there in alot of places

Bone is right to test the draft waters, but there is a reason he is not listed on draft boards. He had a good season, but a average post season.
He disappeared at times. IMO, if he wants to play in the NBA he still has a lot of work to do and I am not confident that he will ever reach the NBA. Good luck to him

He has potential because height is not a major factor at his position. The 2 problems are the the other 100 guards he will compete against and the fact that NBA teams no longer utilize point guards in their offense. I am not sure they have an offense. They play 2 shooting guards most of the time and its every man for himself.

Said it the day he declared and believe it more today. He is going to shine in workouts and shoot up the draft. I think he is absolutely doing the right thing by the way he's going about this and we should support him instead of some of things I see posted here.

He want get drafted not on any list, but he can play somewhere for pay. I think Barnes is already knowing he is not coming back why he is trying to get a point guard and asking one to reclassify and come to Tennessee. I think Grant is first rounder and is gone as well. We need someone that is proven Grad Transfer elite to take his position. If we get the point guard we are after along with Turner and the freshman already signed not to concerned with the point. Grant is a different story especially with Admiral gone as well.

Once teams get him in for workouts and see how fast he is with the ball in his hands they’ll fall in love. I can see a late first round pick for him.

I hope you’re right, but it’s confusing that he’s still not showing up on any of the draft boards. If he doesn’t get drafted, I hope he’s kept everything in order to return to UT so he will have a second chance at being drafted

Also, with people saying he got bad advice, I think he would take coach’s advice over most, so I would say whatever he does coach has influenced the decision.

Honestly, I think he’s better now than Fox was when he got drafted. If not better it’s close.

Players very commonly listen to outside voices (family, friends) over their coaches...it happens multiple times every single year, it’s why you see a lot of guys surprising rises when they go undrafted. The rumors have been his brother is running the show and that has always been a strong person in Jordan’s life, so it’s easy to see why Jordan may listen to Josh.

Interesting point. I would agree that Bone is a better perimeter shooter than Fox was his lone year at Kentucky, but that is likely the only area Bone was better. Fox’ upside was enormous and he was only a frosh compared to Bone as a junior. Clearly Fox has proven over the last 2 years he was the best PG in the draft a couple years ago. I wish Bone success whatever he chooses to do, but selfishly would love it if he came back for his senior year. I think there are pros and cons to either decision.

I think there’s an argument to go both ways
