Speaking of The Athletic, was reading The Mailbag with stewart mandel and he was talking about Michigan going spread, no huddle. Mentioned how their offense wasnt equipped to win shootouts before using a run-first to set up play action approach and how saban, harbaugh, even shaw to a degree, were all abandoning ship on that style since its hard to beat elite offensive teams with a "run the ball, play defense" approach these days. Offenses are just too overpowered.

All this got me to thinking about our own offense, sadly. I just wonder if this approach can still work. Lucky for us we already have an oc well versed in spread no huddle. It may just be a matter of time before we abandon this archaic style of offense and the transition may be just fine.

Such as the offense UGA has used to be in CFP past two years? Seems to work fine. Harbaughs michigan offense was more basic than Chaney’s. Chaney can spread you out or pound you. Hatbaugh was like the Helton run two times play action pass

So... LSU fires, hires and announces a new AD in half a day.

A year after firing Davenport, UT has narrowed our Chancellor search to four finalists, one of whom-- a UTK alum-- has been trying to get hired by UT for a decade.
Amateurs. Didn’t even give themselves time to track flights.

Clemson fans are really awful right now. Think 2009-11 Bama levels of arrogance. Agree with previous poster, the thrill is gone with most Bama fans now, they are numb to winning, Clemson fans are still enjoying swinging their you know what's around and telling everyone how big it is.

I agree on Bama fans being numb to winning. My brother in law is a huge one (great guy too that remembers the bad years). I used to watch games with him occasionally during the Shula years and he hung on every play and fretted over the program. Nowadays he flips the games on in the background while he does other stuff and he occasionally checks in to make sure Bama still has a 20 point lead. It’s gotten a bit boring.

I’d say it’s boring for all us. I think the last few years of college football have been some of the worst I can remember. Tennessee has been awful, but more broadly the game has gotten too top heavy and predictable. Just not a good product at the moment...
