His school? As in the one where he played football, served as long time assistant and then head coached? Lot of them.Fulmer wouldn’t have left TN for all the riches in the world. He may have made some poor hiring choices and been too scared to change but that man was loyal to his school.
Not all top coaches are guns for hire!
Good grief at some of the parallels you people try to draw. First Pat Summitt and now Fulmer. Between those two and Barnes, one is not at all like the other.Fulmer wouldn’t have left TN for all the riches in the world. Plenty of snowflakes got their feelings hurt but no one was insulted. If those words today caused you to suddenly dislike Varnes and 4 years of goodwill, then you should seek counseling. The term a shrink will open with is 'manic"So you don’t think anyone got insulted today? Not sure Barnes is all that likeable today either. I guess having good kids is what saves him.

I don’t worship him. I like the product. Extent of the science there. Before we hired him, I was on board because we had to stop the bleeding...nothing else. Wins were secondary until we got this thing up and running with the NCAA’s breath off our neck. He delivered that and much more. If he had darted, I’d have been pushing for Steve Forbes. Sneaky suspicion many on here would be dog-cussing Fulmer for letting this “mercenary” get away. When you’re bent that way there’s no straightening. Miserables be miserable. They were good kids before Barnes ever met them. I liked him cause he was the coach at Tennessee but I quit “coach worship” long ago.
