To Protect and to Serve II

That's just what this country doesn't need... toddlers peeing in parking lots.

The horror...

But since you didn't ask...years ago, I'm working the Interstate. Back before the days of the CHAMP units, we carried floor jacks and 4-way wrenches, and would help change tires for stranded motorists. So I'm running the north end, and I see a sedan on the shoulder with it's flashers on. I pull over, hit my lights, call in the motorist assist, and get out to help.

But they're not in need of any assistance. At least not mine. Young couple, with a 3 (or so) year old curtain climber who's smack in the middle of potty training. Junior had to take a dump, so they pull over, break out the porta-potty, and there he sits (on the shoulder side of the vehicle), taking a dump and watching the world go by. Priceless.

Never occurred to me to write a ticket (and for what?)...I was too busy laughing.

I'm out there, Ras...

Look, you know this isn't a personal attack... this is a generalized attack on the profession. There are exceptions to the rule. But in general, most civilians simply see cops in general as ticket writers.

We're good. We already agreed on that. I'd drink a beer with you any day, anywhere.

Maybe sometimes I like to flip the script and pull your chain, huh?

The sad part of this is, with the way people worship police dogs (which is simply dumb af especially considering the way police treat our dogs), I’m sure he’ll probably get in more trouble than if he’d sexually abused a human.
Sadly, you are probably right.

So violation (allegedly) of a noise ordinance is grounds for cops to enter your property? I thought they needed a search warrant, owner consent or exigency? ***** cops...

Arrest warrant vs search warrant...

Here's a decent summary of arrest vs search warrant and when law enforcement can enter a private residence to execute an arrest warrant. Apparently, it is not cut and dried but a lot of gray area. I don't like it but they may have been entering legally to execute the warrant. I think the standards for entering a private residence should be higher.
