I hate to sound like a wet blanket, but confidence was supreme in the springs of 2015 and 2016.

It fell off in 2017 with us graduating Dobbs/Barnett/Kamara/Sutton.. and of course last year, everything was tentative because there wasn't enough time on the clock between December and September to get our guys in shape.

I do agree that 2019 feels pretty nice right now. It's been an offseason of winning that even has the traditional rivals somewhere between curious and rustled, and it really really NEEDS to translate to some good wins this year. 7-5 should be the fan expectation. But I bet the players and coaches are thinking way higher.

I hate how baseball has faded. When I was a kid, during the summers we would play sandlot ball every moment we could all summer ping, snd we would argue stats, and who the greatest players were..free agency ruined the game for me at the pro level, but I loved going to my nephews games from when he was in little league till he graduated HS.

I feel pretty confident that we won’t be paying $200k more than what we’re paying Holly now and that we won’t hire an outsider.

I was talking with a former player and she said that some of the current players get upset when they're criticized or pushed. Holly doesn't push hard at all, so it's hard to imagine how they'd respond to a tough coach who wouldn't tolerate the way they practice or play.

I think that is what Botch did too, and why his alleged recruiting success is garbage. And why I think the roster is still peppered with dudes that don't get it.
