Recruiting Forum Football Talk [RIP 9.3.2019]

One thing to keep in mind, whoever coaches this team going forward is going to inherit a team of talented but spoiled gals. Some won't be able to handle being pushed like a championship team is pushed. They've been allowed to pretty much do whatever they've wanted to do since they've been here. Many won't respond and leave.

You've hit on part of the problem. I think Holly has had success recruiting a certain type of player that's looking for softer coaching. This team is soft. I was talking with a former player and she said that some of the current players get upset when they're criticized or pushed. Holly doesn't push hard at all, so it's hard to imagine how they'd respond to a tough coach who wouldn't tolerate the way they practice or play.

It's obvious this team is soft. I've never seen so many hairdos on a basketball team. They don't seem to care about winning or be upset at losing. They don't even look like typical athletes. They don't run down the court, they prance. I hate to make it a blanket statement but their are only 2-3 that look like basketball players.

Holly is on coaches show now during radio broadcast. They should have never put her on the air. Voice is shaking and has already said 3 times - I don’t have any answers.

That is the “nail in the coffin “ for me.

No real coach would ever say that in public...

Pat would never have signed them if she thought for one minute that they couldn't take her style of coaching.

and false eyelashes--plus the thing with the shorts tucked in? It must be a thing, I see a lot of them doing it..

I get that girls want to be pretty. Nothing wrong with that. But, a few years ago I would see pictures of the girls during the pregame when they were all made up and they were almost unrecognizable. It was obvious on gameday they were concerned about winning a basketball game and not trying to look like a runway model.

I didn't even watch the game. Caught just a few minutes and they looked like the Keystone Cops highlight reel. I think Holly reached her breaking point last weekend. Fulmer needs to remove her now, for the good of the program and her own health. Really, she looks mentally spent.

Wouldn't be around long if they have the same drive and make as Pat did. That cold stare that only Pat could give they would leave town and Pat would help them pack. She earned and demanded respect and that's why we have so many banners hanging from the rafters.

I'd give her the last game, if she wants it. No way I let her coach the tournament.

I don’t care if they have already agreed that this ends at the end of the season, she needs to step down or be fired right now. She shouldn’t coach another game.

who really cares at this point? Let her walk away at year's end. Immediate bloodletting does no one any good. And it will reflect well on the admin during the coaching search. All that matters now is getting a good replacement.

Basically the complete opposite of Barnes

Soccer can't be that hard.

Here's a ball, kick it into that goal. Hey big dude, don't let them kick it into our goal.

It's the beautiful game for a reason. Ask any fifa player, plenty of strategy if you ever want to score. As for individual players, you have to have elite speed, ball skills, and stamina. I doubt there is any athlete better conditioned than soccer players.

That's true. Pat looked for players determined to win a championship and would have accepted no less. Holly is nothing like Pat. I think she recruits a different type of player. Her players aren't nearly as focused, driven and hungry to win.
