Indeed. He's not announcing until 4pm Wednesday which means this place is going to be a cesspool of negativity and doubt all day long unless Pickens and/or Tootoo picks UT in an upset. And I wouldn't doubt it at all if some out of left field 3 star guy gets the go ahead and signs Wednesday which will add fuel to the already burning fire.

My best advice to all is to stay away from VN until 4pm when Wright announces. It won't be pretty leading up to that announcement most likely.

We've solidified our OL in a HUGE way.

We kept possibly the most important member of the staff in Fitzgerald.

We hired a HIGHLY coveted OC who broke records when he was here.

We brought back our National Championship winning QB, who happens to have turned into an ELITE recruiter.

There are rumors swirling about more potential staff upgrades after NSD.

It's two before signing day and we're still in on three five star recruits, with one potentiality already in the bag.

If any of y'all are pessimistic about the direction of the program, you're looking in the wrong direction. Time to start looking forward.

Would not suprise me. I could see him go to off field role. He is not proving to be a big time recruiter and the more I look at our defensive staff without Kelly we really need another elite recruiter on that side of ball.
If this does happen, it will again show how little Doug Mathews is actually connected to what's really going on with this staff. To hear him talk about Fair, it sounds like he's being groomed for a coordinator position very soon.

Against FSU

4 sacks, 2 INTs, 1 TD, 4 FF, 1 FR, 2.6 YPC giving up, only allowed 9 completions 0 passing TDs, and less than 150 yards passing.

Our offense actually struggled that game. Never really got the running game going, Tee threw 2 INTs and we lost 2 fumbles. The two big passes to Price were the game changers, that's 155 of the 292 passing yards for the game right there.

1 of 12 on 3rd downs

We blow a spot on some no name 3 Star and I swear to God I’ll punch Chief in the face.

But if individual Stats define QB greatness then Brees is the GOAT then..... do you agree? I don't

GOAT is meaningless, and thus nothing but perception based anyway.

Brees should be in the discussion though, when he finally retires. Will hold all the career records. I am just happy to have been actively watching during this era of QBs. Started with the twilight years of Montana, Marino, Favre, and Elway. Caught the full careers of Brady, Brees, Manning, Rivers, Big Ben and Eli...

Ok, your post just gave me a semi.
And, at my advanced age, that’s quite an accomplishment without blue pills.

Well I guess get ready to do that, because Kenney Solomon is probably signing with this class.

But yeah, he's a "no name three-star" I guess. Kid can run a 4.36 40 and has pretty decent coverage skills already.

Edit: This isn't a slight towards you, 85SugarVol. I generally like your posts. This is more in response to people in Solomon's thread who have been ragging on the kid.

Ranking the most elite talent-producing football states in 2019

SIAP: it's amazing how much talent GA is producing now despite having half the population of FL, a third of TX, and a quarter of CA's. 2020 is going to be even better. Marietta alone has 5 of the top 100. You could put together a national championship caliber team of just kids from Gwinnett and Cobb.

Don't want to look ahead (one game at a time) but this showdown with Kentucky....

It’s somewhat likely a number one seed will be at stake in our games with UK. We split or go 2-0, I think we are good. If we lose both, I bet we are a 2 seed. Of course, we will probably also meet in the SECT, so that’s the big variable.

I don’t intend to discount the other games on our schedule, but I don’t see both us and UK getting a 1 seed as likely.

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about this basketball team we all have the pleasure of watching right now. I need to make myself clear: if any of you jerks dog on this team for a loss, at any point going forward, then you will get an express pass to ignoreville. Sure, that probably means nothing to you, but getting your idiotic negativity out of my life will be great for me.

Our Football team has been mostly garbage for over a decade. The other great thing we had going for us, women’s basketball, is terrible to watch right now. This current iteration of the basketvols gives me life force. It is a light in a dark, dark world. The players work their asses off and have fully bought into their coaches system. They are great men off the court (at least as far as I can tell). I am proud to call them fellow VFLs (this isn’t always the case). Coach Barnes is a leader and a joy to listen to in interviews. In short, this is the best thing going for UT fans right now, and over the past decade, and we should be RELISHING it. Haters? Shut up. Negative nancies? GTFO.

Only one team wins their last game that matters. This “championship or bust” mentality I am seeing from some posters is horseshit. Do I want them to win the whole damn thing? You bet your ass I do, more than almost anything. But I’m gonna cheer and support and root for these men irregardless of the final outcome. And if you call yourselves a VFL, you will as well. This is my favorite collection of Vols since the 2001 football team and I’ll Be damned if any of you assholes try to cheapen it on my watch.

100% agree. But the vocal minority will be loud Wednesday was my point.

I 100 percent agree with this post. This team- So much personality and fun-- so much talent. Not one about themselves--they are a true team. I hope they win every game and become the National champions, but regardless, for me they are in a category with the best of the VOLS.

And Manning couldn't do it because? Basically the same team...right? Manning still lost to Florida. What are you talking about?

Just can't seem to give Tee his credit for the NC. The team only had 114 rushing yards in the National Championship game....Tee had 2 TD passes.

I went to 11 of the 13 games in 1998 and rooted for Tee every chance I could. It was a blast, and I appreciate what he did.

But it’s so naive to just say, “it was the same team.” There are so many variables from year to year. For one, the game against UF in 1998 was at home. UT had 235 total yards, and we held UF to -13 rushing yards. Tee did make a great scramble on third down in OT to get Hall in position for the FG.

But no two seasons are alike, and our defense was dominant that year.

I called in a couple of months ago, and asked Mathews specifically about Fair...he said Pruitt thinks highly of him, and he is very smart.

And clearly you'll go out of your way to try and prove he's not the GOAT, Vol fan. But, hey...I guess you're just trying to be a "realist", right. You kind of sound like Chief...I believe he is a "realist", too.

I stick by what I posted; and even moreso than that, what I saw. Clearly it's correct, and no excuses needed when I say, he's still the only man in NFL history to win 5 MVPs, take 4 different head coaches to the Super Bowl, and win it with two different franchises. He's also the only man to ever throw for 5,477 yards and 55 Touchdowns in a single season. Also, when he retired, he held, and still holds, almost every single passing record that's ever been thought up.

And, also, again...he was 3-1 against your boy, Brady, head to head, on the field, in the AFC Championship; including the biggest comeback in a conference championship, in NFL history.

Why don't we throw out passing records and mvp's and rings, and look at head to head, on the field, in the playoffs; because, hey...Manning was no good in the playoffs according to you and your ilk, right. Well, he was good enough to get the job done against Brady...head to head, on the field of play. I believe he may have had a losing record against Philip Rivers, and maybe one or two more, in the playoffs, but...not against your boy, Brady. Brady was 2-3 against Manning in the playoffs...a place where Manning was supposedly so bad; 1-3 in the AFC Championship Game.

I'm done, dude. You can ramble on some more, if you wish; but, you'll be wasting your time if it's for me to read. I've already given you more time than I have others, whenever it comes to this argument. Brady is as great as they come; but, he will never be Manning...I don't care how many Super Bowls he wins...with Belichick.

Also, one other thing I just thought of, and THEN I'm done...you talk about Manning's defenses only allowing 21, or 17, or 16, or 15 points, and Manning still losing those games, while carrying the water for Brady's greatness...Manning could only dream of his defenses giving up only 3 points in a Super Bowl...to, what, the #2, #3 rated offense in the NFL. Whatever, man.
I didn’t go out of my way at all. I didn’t know every UT fan had to think the same way, Sorry.

I’m one of the typically negative - but I’ll reserve judgement. This class has 3 elite players at the top. But success will be determined by whether or not this staff has the “eye” to hit on lower ranked prospects. And we won’t know that this week.

Which 3?
