But if wins don't really mean anything then everything becomes to objective and opinionated, yeah Peyton has better stats than Brady but if statistics are the end all be all of the sport then it won't be long till you can make the argument that Brees is easily the greatest of all time based on the stats, and that's when Vol fans will be like.... but Peyton has more rings, the fact is whether it's a Team sport or not QB is the most important position on the field and has the most impact and Brady has been statistically great as well as has 3 times as many Super Bowls, and btw the defense argument can be played against Manning in his last superbowl because Von Miller and Demarcus Ware won him that one

Manning absolutely got carried by the defense in his last superbowl. No question. Brees is arguably better than Manning (I don't think he is but it's not an unreasonable statement). Rings should be one of the least important variables when evaluating any football player vs another.

How many contested completions does a QB make? How well does he throw under pressure? How well does his team do without him? These are the types of things that should be used to compare QBs. Brady missed almost every WR who was guarded last night. He missed almost every throw when there was a hint of pressure. And quite frankly that's the norm for him. Belichick has just made sure that Brady is rarely under pressure and that his WR are usually wide open.

Stats can’t be the end all be all(neither should rings), if so then in 25 years Manning won’t be even be top 5 QB OAT. And Montana and Unitas wouldn’t even sniff the top 15 currently

Marino must have been a horrible QB lol. You just say that because that's the narrative. There's 0 evidence that QB is that important. That's why every team starts to suck right after giving their QB a max deal. If it were all about the QB the team would still be elite when they started getting rid of the talent around them. That's also why the patriots stay good. They don't pay Brady even top 10 money.

I agree stats aren't 100% of the story. You have to actually think critically and watch different players and apply slightly more complex reasoning instead of just looking at a box score or a ring count.

also how is it possible for Belichick to be sure Brady is rarely pressured and that his recievers are open? Isn't that the job of any Head Coach or OC? You mean Manning Rogers, or Brees' coaches weren't trying to do the same for them? Also this isn't chess the players around the QB's have to execute the game plan

Come on man. You're smarter than that. It's really obvious I was saying Belichick is really really good at making sure Brady is rarely under pressure and his WR are almost always wide open. You really don't believe I was saying that Belichick is the only coach who tries to do those things right? And that as the GM he's really really good at getting players who can execute his system to accomplish that?

They read defenses, are responsible for audibles, calling the right plays, and deliver the ball to all the play makers, the ball is in their hands more than any other player. If you were betting on a team would you place your money on a team QB'd by Brady, Manning, or Rogers vs a team QB'd by Mark Sanchez, Luke McCown or Colt McCoy?

I've learned through the years that coaching is FAR more important than I ever thought. Brady and Montana are very good quarterbacks. I believe they owe their rings to Belichek and Walsh, though. Same for Steve Young.

Look at Elway. He was a fine quarterback for a long time. It took the right coach and system to get his rings. If Marino had Walsh or Belichek, he would have several rings right now. Shula couldn't close the deal. Anybody who lived through the 80's and 90's knows: Marino was an awesome QB and better than Elway in almost every way.

I'm definitely smarter than that I just decided to take what you said as it was written because..... that's how it was written, whether I could use my reading comprehension skills to interpret what you meant or not wasn't the issue also Brady took a pay cut to help with the salary cap? It was big news a couple years back, listen I get it, Peyton is #1 on the field and in our hearts and all that (and I am a HUGE Peyton fan) but winning is part of QB's legacy like it or not and Brady has won.... a lot. Not only has he won a lot but he's done it with a lot of different teammates the only constants in that organization over the last 20 years is Kraft (the owner), Belicheck and Brady.

Those that never saw Cousy video need to take a look at his passing.

He also had a nice scene in a basketball movie, on the court shooting freethrows while talking to Nick Nolte. He made every one. Nolte finally interjected, "Don't you ever miss?". Cousy's look seemed to say, "What for?", while Nolte's question felt like an adlib. One of the all-time greats.
