Bryce Drew coached a really good game, and has done a good job with that team...BUT..he just lost every bit of respect I could ever have for him...He will always be a little whiny bitch to me now forever.
Agreed. He should sack up. He has a lot to learn. Coach Barnes is one of the best I've ever seen post-game.

King's career averages (only 3 years) for reference...I am also too young to have seen him live.

25.8 PPG
13.2 TRB

I wish Grant was getting that kind of production. He's currently at 14.9 PPG, and just 6.3 TRB for his career (not including tonight) this year though he's stepped up his game, but I don't know if we'll ever have another Bernard King...cause if we get a guy putting up his numbers he'll likely be a 1 and done.
The game has changed too much. Those numbers over three years are unbelievable.

Ellis was remarkable. There was no 3 point line when he was at UT so no need for him to shoot long range. When the NBA added the 3 point line, he took full advantage. He could do it all.

Sadly his UT teams matched up with #1 Virginia and Ralph Sampson 2 years in a row in the NCAA tourney. Although it was fun to watch Ellis vs Sampson in both of the games.
Ellis.....spinning 8 footer......BOTTOM!!!!!

Did you all hear Dykes on the broadcast last night? The announcer asked him what kind of NBA team Grant would play on. Dykes said, "a team that wins" or something similar. I think that sums up Grant perfectly.

Sounds like my post in his recruiting thread just after he signed.

Sounds like Williams is a winner in a number of ways

Excited about this kid

When it comes to Bernie - different eras and different styles of play and much deeper pools of talent today. I remember the show well. Bernie was incredible and posters are right, give him two good knees and he would have been Top 10 in the NBA IMO. But there were also times he didn't get his teammates involved and play D particularly well. It showed at UT because they never made a FF.

As much as last night was wonderful to watch with Grant just willing the team to win, I hope it never happens again. In contrast, the others have covered for him a few times his season. We need them playing together as a unit feeding off each other down the stretch.

Admiral will be fine. Just fighting through a slump. I'm more concerned with who plays when Alexander rests. That will not get it done with Fulk last night. They cannot go small ball and win against the more talented tall teams.

Did you ever see BK play? You realize he averaged 25.3 points and 13.2 rebounds for his career and was 3 time SEC POY. This was without the 3 pt line and no shot clock . Grant is GREAT but not quite at BK's level yet (imo)
Big Bernard King fan. I understand he was great and it will be a close discussion. My opinion is that team success + an extra year on his resumé might be the tiebreaker. He’s also on his way to national player of the year this year.

There’s not a bad side of the fence to be on.

That's the only way to get out of a slump.
Admiral settles way too often for long range 3's. When he finally made a shot late.....where was it......in the paint. He needs to quit settling so much for 3's and use that strength and frame of his to post up more and create a good look and maybe even draw more fouls himself.

That's probably true but you still can't be afraid to take open shots or you'll never break the slump.

whole team. i like Admiral shooting a late open three, but, team has lost its rythym. if Bone is asked to call plays or run, and Grant is out- we struggle. The team wants to run up ans down the court, issue is we werent built to do that.

Notice when we came out at halftime; and ran our offense, bounce pass to middle let Grant work. he finds open player after drawing double team.

This team does better when Admiral AND Grant have double doubles.

What a douche?

What a classless loser. I never really liked that guy and now I'm reminded why.

Grant Williams on the other hand is so fun to watch. Everything about his game and this performance last night is why I love sports. Just REFUSED to lose. NO LOSE IN HIM! Makes me teary eyed when guys give their all like that. Incredible performance and we're all extremely lucky to have him, Coach Barnes and the rest of the team. Enjoy the ride!

Man you must have really long arms. Had to reach way back to pat yourself on the back. Finding a post you made 3 years ago is pretty impressive.

Lol

I can assure you if look hard enough you will find plenty of negative Rick Barnes post. I did like williams but you can kick me in the ass on my early hatred for Barnes

Someone's disappointed we won

that's just stupid. We can't keep coming from behind and letting teams rally back to tie and take the lead in the second half... We let AL stick around and look what happened... law of averages says we will lose 3-4 if we keep playing this tight until the end and go into OT... The way we started SEC play, I honestly thought we just may run the table, but there are too many good/tough SEC teams out there this season and it will have an off night here or there... just glad we didn't lose the #1 spot right after we got it.
