I had to do it. I like/dislike Tee because...

Is Peyton and issue with Tee Martin with YOU

What the F are you even talking about......

I never called him a " POS " or said anything negative about him...

Your not on the TV show Law and Order here. I was defending a post that someone else made about Tee snubbing my beloved university in years past.

There was some less than favorable words said about my beloved university by Tee when he was working for USC. He was recruiting a kid by the name of Adorree Jackson. He won that recruiting battle and Jackson was a first round draft pick in the NFL.

I said in my post that I understand and I am not upset.

I hope you are a law student attempting to learn the act of argument or something because you are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Calm down.

"I never called him a " POS " or said anything negative about him...."

....and I never said you did, but am _clearly_ referring to djones24 who did make the statement. Which is where you came in "defending", remember? Geez.

So, what "less than favorable words" did Martin say about your beloved university?
I hope you can now attempt to follow the conversation you inserted yourself into.

It's his opinion. You have yours and I'm sure he would be just as convinced that your as full of crap as you feel he is.

There are substantiated, objective opinions, and there are unsubstantiated, idiotic opinions. I'm sure he felt going with the latter was a winner.

I admire and respect Tee Martin the National Championship winning QB. Tee Martin the coach? Not so much.

Martin only has to be a good position coach and recruiter for which he was hired. He's a proven commodity on both those counts, your appreciation notwithstanding.

its been said that Tee was disgruntled for years because he has always been an after thought to Peyton in Knoxville.

Here’s to many successful years at Tennessee for Tee as a coach.
That's Tee's issue with no basis for proof other than a direct statement by Tee which no can quote. I refuse to believe that he has ever said that. That has nothing to do with whether he is liked or not.

Expect folks to hedge, juke, tiptoe, around and mock this question. I doubt you get honest responses. As for myself, yes, I think it's an issue for some fans. The spectrum being among older ones, say those who are 55+. But they'll cite other reasons which are actually reinforcements of their already biased mindsets. Finally, I suggest that since Tee is now back, let's just all hope he proves to be a major cog in the return of the once mighty Vols and leave it at that.
Then stop putting forth what this poll has shown (at least on VN) to be false narrative! Just STFU about it and this thread will die a quick death. I made the poll because you were too chickenshit to do it. Now we have results that say you are wrong and you won't let it go. Isn't Luke Skywalker calling you or something?

There are those people that you just think needs to be smacked in the mouth at times. Know what I mean? You know, those annoying people that think they have all the answers or that their opinion is somehow more important than others. The ones that make definitive statements as if they are the experts. Yeah, the people that you just snicker at because you know they are probably dumb as a box of rocks and are trying really hard to sound like they know what they are talking about.

I didn’t say it was true or not.
It was also said that he didn’t coach here because he didn’t want to tarnish his imagine in Knoxville. That is obviously false. I’m sure he’ll do great and he’s already paying on on the trail.

Hoooo, boy! - I know exactly what you mean. Like people who think Martin is some kind of unqualified, symbolic hire, call him a POS and persona non grata.
Which one you wanna' smack first? I'll hold 'em for you!

But wait...don't we live in a day when you disagree with her/him then you must be the most evil person on earth...and its perfectly ok to demonize them....right? That is the day we live in isn't it? I personally hope ,regardless of my or anyone else's opinion of TM, he is ultra successful here....

The statement that started this stupid thread was something that I had never heard and so rubbed me the wrong way that I made this huge mistake of a poll. However, I'm thinking that the "Tee won Peyton's NC" statement was made more to stir up **** than to be anywhere near to factual. The results are near 100% calling BS.

I don't think it is necessarily stupid. I voted because I knew what you were trying to expose. You accomplished that. The minority didn't understand, no matter how many times you explained. Reading comprehension and all that is lacking in some.

Man, you're fun. I don't recall anyone actually responding to the poll with actual input. And if they did your poll proves nothing except people have opinions and likely some lied as well. Also, you should be beaten within an inch of your life. However, I must forego the opportunity as I don't have a tape measure.

[Now watch the last statement get twisted into something else.]

But, your wife knows what two inches looks like.

LOL nope. Haven't read anything like that nor do I know anyone who has said anything even remotely close to that. I may have had the thought that he is an unqualified symbolic hire. Have never stated it in those terms, but maybe an alluding statement or two which would simply be an opinion not unlike yours. But hey no one would even have to hold me if you wanna give it a shot. I would actually be open to it. Can't guarantee that the result would be to your liking but hey it sounds like fun. Or we could just start with you, either way.

I think it's just really immature how many here on VN just love stupid drama and to argue and fight but that's how children are, LOL!

Peyton was a great QB and I'm still mad that he didn't Win the heisTman like he should have.

The FACT is that Peyton just didn't have the D team that Tee had or he would have Won a NC.

Peyton is a legend for Tennessee, the Colts and the Broncos.

Tee learned lots from Peyton and I'm sure he'd admit that.

Tee played well as a college QB and was given a shot in the NFL but just couldn't rise up to make the NFL cut.

Tee was lucky that he DID have Al Wilson and our really tough Tennessee D side of the ball.

Tee did his part well but the FACT is that it WAS our really tough Tennessee D that WON us that National Championship!

That season was a total TEAM effort.

TEAM means...

Together
Everyone
Achieves
More

End of silly thread.

VFL...GBO!!!

djones24 said exactly that calling Martin a POS who should never be welcomed back. I replied, whereupon Steven and you chipped in.

Insofar as "The ones that make definitive statements as if they are the experts."; here's one:

"Don't you people get it? HE DOES NOT WANT TO COME HERE IN OTHER CAPACITY THAN HBC!!!!! PERIOD! Not gonna happen."
- that does it quite often then yelps about it when he's not. Seems there are good opinions and shiddy ones, eh?
Go stand in front of the mirror and smack yourself, tough guy.

That was my opinion. The difference is that I can admit when I'm wrong. If and when he spectacularly fails are you gonna be the first to come here and admit that you were wrong? Or will you be like most of the people here and want to burn him at the steak? Some of you have made him out to be the savior of UT football and have simply set him up to fail no matter how successful he can or won't be. I was happy with him just being our National Championship winning QB. I will say this, in that If Coach Pruitt believes in him and obviously he does because he hired him, I gotta go with it because I trust his judgment. As far as me smacking myself, I had much rather let you give it a try.

What would I admit? I haven't opined that he'll be a raging success here; I can't know that. Rather, I've stated he has an established track record as a position coach and recruiter; that's simply a fact. I'd be surprised if he doesn't continue that success here. There's nothing to admit to there. He'll sink or swim along with Pruitt, Chaney, and the rest.

Anyone getting tuned up over disagreement with their shiddy opinions and fantasizing about getting physical, will not find the psychiatric release they need on this forum. Keep dreaming big...
