What is ridiculous is the lack of a sense of humor these days. Everybody's looking for a trigger. But, I'm not talking about you, behr.
Yeah I'm not sure there are just a couple descriptions that covers all.A Fairweather fan.......A person who is supportive of and enthusiastic about a sports team only when that team is performing well.
And we don't have any of those? Lulz.
Yeah I'm not sure there are just a couple descriptions that covers all.
You have some (speaking particularly about the board) that are very present when things are not going well and yet rarely heard from when something good happens.
I wasn't impressed with our coaching in Pruitt's first season. Not even a little, but I am impressed with the staff moves he has made and some of the recruiting success we have had.
I agree with the idea. Just making a different point. What I posted is how Ive always defined it. It seems it gets confused with Bandwagon fan. To me a bandwagon fan is someone who is a fan of a team only because they are winning and will jump from team to team. A guy I go to church with was a USCw fan, been a Bama fan for 3 years, was about to be a Georgia fan last year but has already bought a Clemson sweatshirt.

While some wait until things are good to jump back in and be a "fan" (not necessarily jumping from one winning team to the next which you have defined differently) others are more active when things are bad and less active when something good happens. Essentially the opposite of fair weather but not a bandwagon fan.
you are the reason for the last 10 years if you feel "Fulmer's time had come," no good reason to fire a VFL HOF coachFor the 1st time in just over 10 years, I truly feel like the Volunteers as an athletic program has truly turned a corner for the best. Basketball speaks for itself, with possibly the most fun we've had as a fan base that we've ever had. But it truly feels like the football program is firmly on an uptrend, as opposed to where we were prior to Fulmer's firing. Fulmer's time had come, but I honestly never felt as positive about the future of the football program as I have the past month alone. And this says a lot considering the 5-7 season we had. Recruiting and the hires we've made have given new life and confidence to the program.
It's good to be a Vol. And it's only going to get better.
I don't mind if you are talking about me. Im not offended or upset about that post, but I do think its ridiculous comparing Vol fans misery to Purple Hearts.
We go through this every year. OP just likes being a Vol. Didn't call anyone out with his/her post. Feels things are headed in the right direction. Then the whining starts, women's basketball suck, baseball sucks and now "we" deserve Purple Hearts. Lol, but that's not why other fans laugh at us.
I feel the Football program is at least headed in a better direction. At the very least, I don't think anyone can say our Athletic director is not committed to winning. Its still questionable if he knows how to get there from his new position, but I think its a better situation than it has been in a long long time.
But anyway, I haven't said anything that hasn't been said 100 times.
This. Anyone that watched the last 2 games of the season and can claim that any corner has been turned is simply delusional.
Its like some of you can't or don't want to comprehend what you read and just want to bish about someone having a different opinion than yours.
If you can't look past those two games and look at the big picture and see that it looks more like heading in the right direction than it looks like going backwards, IMO you are delusional.
Lol, who's right?
Thats great buddy. Thanks for sharing your opinion.Nope, just a Vol fan and a proud U of T graduate who knows we've had some bad times in football and maybe some other sports, but maybe we're on a path to straighten things out. I don't mind a little criticism--I've indulged in it myself from time to time. But, I can't stand trolls, who do NOTHING but criticize (pretty much you). I never go to other fan sites to post--never. I can't stand people who live their lives like that. Go support the team you like and leave other fan-bases alone.
