I saw Holly do an interview on the last loss, 4 in a row at that point, she looked liked she aged 10 years in just a couple. I agree, I think she knows at this point she is just a shadow. It’s just plain sad to watch at this point, when there are a few of us that still remember watching Pat, Fulmer and Pearl tearing up at the same time.
Her demeanor on the sideline in the second half was very telling. She looked shell-shocked and angry, but did not look determined or like she was trying to figure out what needed to change.

Thats pretty harsh criticism. He was 3rd on the team in tackles and second in tackles for loss and sacks. Those stats were also better than anyone on UGA except Deandre Walker. Those kind of numbers as a linemen in a 3-4 are pretty good. I'd understand mentioning no showing the previous three years but he played really well for us this season.

In addition, his downfield hustle was phenomenal for plays that weren't stopped at the DL or LB, frequently making tackles 10-20 yds downfield. His motor was on nearly 110% on every play.

Holly had several opportunities but turned them down.

I feel for her and her family. Bottomline, she has/is giving her all for Tennessee. If Coach Fulmer and Holly feels it’s the right time, then a move will be made and my hope is she will be given something within the administration to continue her involvement. She was a HOF player and her jersey hangs from the rafters.

Coach Fulmer has proven to me he has a clear direction for our sports programs. IF he decides it’s time, then I am with him. Until then, I will pull for Holly and the LV’s.

This is not a Butch Jones situation.....
I get what you're saying, but I have to agree with others who have said that she should just step down. I understand about not giving up without finishing the job, but she is in so far over her head that she will never dig out.

Ok...I am glad he his doing well...but...I gotta ask the question...

Was he sandbagging this season? I mean we saw little to nothing of the player they are describing..If this is product of finally getting healthy and working with real coaches, I get it...

But...it would have been nice to see him terrorizing Drew Lock and Kyle Shurmer..
I thought he played good and very good, at times.

I feel hard hearted about Holly but the writing is on the wall. Fans aren't showing up, rumors about lack of respect from players and no discipline (similar to Butch) . Obviously it is hard for anyone to follow a legendary coach. I do agree that she needs to be in the administration in some capacity,

I watched LV every game when Pat was there, then slowly trailed off watching games under Holly’s leadership. It makes me sad & frustrated. I was surprised Fulmer extended her last year (& I say this as a Beardenite). Now I don’t see how anything can be done mid-season. I hate to think how this season will finish out. Thank God football & men’s b-ball are trending up. I sure miss Pat.

This is not intended to attack you or your post, it's your opinion. It's just time to call it for what it is.

We all pull for the LV's to win because of the University of Tennessee - not because of Holly or even Pat. Some of us are more passionate about it than others, but nobody wants them to fail. To have honor and respect for the university and it's programs, you resign when it becomes clear you are not capable of meeting job expectations at the long established elite LV level. I'm sure the university would move her into an UTAD function. So until she resigns or enters into an agreement with Phil, it is a Botch Jones situation and it will get worse.

If you understand the game of basketball, you understand that besides the lack of focus and fundamental effort a team should give, they are not developed well on either offense or defense. Schematically they are horrid on offense. They run motion sets spreading the floor and then don't move. They run low post sets and then run nobody by them for screens, or pass inside out or outside in to score. They almost never flash to the middle of the lane at the FT line to beat a zone D. If not running in transition, nearly every offensive possession results in a dribble drive while the rest stand around and don't even get in position to rebound.

This stuff has worsened through the years, not improved. The Holly plug should have been pulled years ago. It has zero to do with her past with Pat. She is paid well to be a HC of the LV's and win at a high level. Moving on...

Sandbagging. SMH @Ulysees E. McGill c’mon man.

You’re worked up enough for both of us. Graham’s a quality coach.

Holly is a VFL and we need to treat her with grace. The writing is on the wall as head coach, but she still needs to be around the program. Move her to the administrative side and hire one of her former players (hoping for Kara Lawson) as head coach so that there will still be a comfortable working relationship.

Phil knows he can’t fire Holly comfortably. She needs to resign and be willing to stay on campus. Hopefully she sees it the same way we all do.

I don’t think I have ever wanted a team I am not actually a fan of to win more than I want KC to win this weekend. Eric Berry. Love Mahomes, like Reid and want him to finally win a super bowl, Eric Berry. Hate the pats. Colquitt. So many reasons to root for the Chiefs.

Did I mention Eric Berry?
Don't forget Eric Berry.

I don't have a problem with this at all. I think she loves the university. This is the way that Fulmer should have been handled as well as we can see now instead of bringing in a bunch of guys to ruin a great program.

He did extend her but he also reduced her buyout.

Why does she "need to be in administration is some capacity"? Other than loyalty to the program, what is her contribution to leadership? I know a lot of nice people who work hard but they aren't up for administration positions simply because they are nice and work hard.

He has more than enough information to fire her. Being a VFL doesn't make you untouchable nor does it make you a good coach.

No, but he of all people should understand that there is a respectful way to treat her in situations like this.

Not saying he shouldn't, but she needs to be fired at the end of the season. There are dozens of VFL's who aren't in the UT administration. She has been paid a lot of money by the University.

I don't think there are many people disputing that part. She has been an important person to UT, and she should be treated with due respect...just like Fulmer should have. We fixed it with him, now let's see if he learned anything in the process.

Holly is second to Pat on the list in regards to how Lady Vol basketball reached its apex. She has been on campus for 40+ years and literally helped build the program. She has done more for the university than you, I or 99% of the people over there ever will.

Her stint as head coach has not worked out given the high standard set previously by Pat. But she has not been an abject failure and there should be no question of her heart or her intentions. It hurts her much more than it hurts us that she can’t seem to right the ship.

She deserves our respect.
