'19 CA LB Henry To'oto'o (Tennessee Signee)

I can just see it now.

Rivals Analyst: So why did you choose Alabama over Tennessee after Tosh left? Was it Saban?
HT: No, the Tennessee fans kept calling me Toot Toot

Yeah, but he'd love it for all of Neyland to shout "Toooot! Tooooooooooot!" when he meets some poor sap over the middle.

I have seen two taped interviews with HT from the same guy, who seems to know him very well (not sure what the interviewers name is); but, he pronounced Henry's last name Toe-uh-toe-uh. Both interviews were on DLS campus during the season, right after practice.
Unless you can remember who the interviewer was and how to pronounce his name, I'm calling BS on this.

Disclaimer: this is how a friend of mine who's mom is Hawaiian pronounced it. So I'm just passing it along. I don't want to act like I'm an expert or anything.

Anyways, I think it's 2 stressed syllables, being the 2nd and 4th o. But, the 4th o should have the most emphasis.

2-Oh'toe(together, like "moto")-OH'

That's how Henry pronounces it. It's fast, no pauses.

Tennessee and Alabama have been viewed for months as the teams to beat for him. And with the Vols now appearing to have some momentum with To'oto'o, I've made a 247Sports Crystal Ball forecast for Tennessee to land the top-50 prospect. There's still plenty of time for things to change, with To'oto'o not planning to announce his college decision until signing day on Feb. 6. But sources close to his recruitment have indicated that the Vols quietly have been in better shape with To'oto'o than perception might have suggested even before this week, and the reported departure of Alabama defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi — his primary recruiter for the Crimson Tide — likely has improved Tennessee's chances of beating out Alabama for one of the Vols' longtime top targets.

He said after his official visit to Tennessee last weekend that the trip "felt confirming," and he said Niedermeyer is "more like a big brother to me." The Vols also have sold him on his ability to compete for early playing time at linebacker, where Tennessee struggled at times last season.

To'oto'o has been a priority for the Crimson Tide, and they don't often swing and miss on players they truly want. Alabama still will get a chance to host him on an official visit the weekend of Jan. 25 following his stay in Hawaii this week for the Polynesian Bowl. At the moment, he expects his visit with the Crimson Tide to be his final trip, although he still could have the option of using his fifth and final official visit.

And Alabama coach Nick Saban and Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt have yet to travel to California for their in-home visits with To'oto'o and his family. But Tennessee has done everything in its power to this point to give itself a legitimate shot at landing To'oto'o and winning another big-time recruiting battle for a highly ranked prospect who could address a major need for the Vols.

It's far from a done deal, but the momentum seems to have shifted toward Tennessee, and right now I think the Vols have a good chance of beating out Alabama for him in the end.

Yes, and thanks for the reply.

So you're saying (no pun intended):
two oh' two Oh'
or
two Oh' two oh'

OR, per your edit:
toe oh' toe Oh'
or
toe Oh' toe oh'

I think you're pointing to the first one.
It sounds like two stressed syllables with the desoto+long o reference.
Let's get him signed first, then we can learn to pronounce his name

Don't mess with my toot-toot. The only zydeco song that I've ever known to chart.

You mean there is more than one zydeco song?

Seriously, I used to bartend in a club years ago that featured zydeco bands, and while it was fun music, I never could tell much difference when one song stopped and another started. I guess I didn't have an ear that could discern the different sounds produced on an accordion and washboard.

Is it any different with hip hop? At least there is some musicality to zydeco.

Pretty sure it’s prniunced Toe Oh Toe Oh

Like when you were a kid and you stubbed your barefoot toe on some concrete...TOE! Oh, Toe! Oh!
I read an article on Hawaiian and the apostrophe is like a pause, and based on my understanding of the vowel pronunciation, you are spot on.
