Jauan Jennings leaves Tennessee (Debunked rumor)

You sound so battered
That’s not a “battered” take at all. He’s simply stating fact. I love the way JJ plays, his attitude is great and sorely needed among this program. But to call him an “all-time great”? Come on now. Only way he gets into that conversation is if he returns for 2019 and puts up an historic Tennessee WR season.

Name another recent player who has multiple passing TD’s, multiple receiving TD’s, multiple tackles and an interception.

Hopefully he comes back!

Jauan Jennings’ Career Stats 2015 — 2018:

-35 total games played

-87 catches for 1184 yards and 10 TD’s

-12 carries for 42 yards

-2 touchdown passes, 0 ints (50% completion percentage)

-6 special teams tackles

-1 interception

-Made atleast 1 catch in every career game

-Multiple catches in 23 games

-Game-Winning catch against Georgia

-Game-Winning catch against Florida

Decent numbers. He’s obviously made a handful of iconic plays here and he’s the best blocking WR I’ve ever seen. We need him back in 2019, and he needs to come back in 2019 to have a monster season so that he can hopefully get drafted in 2020.

Jennings is my favorite player on the team. I hope he returns to smash Florida and Georgia DBs in the mouth.

Crooms was moved to tight end in the NFL and JJ has the tight end size and speed
Problem solved
No. Croom is huge, was a TE playing WR at Tennessee. That ain’t JJ. No chance he could play TE in college so he sure ain’t playing it in the nfl.

Jennings could go either way on the draft. I suspect he'd be a late round pick. Staying another year could help push him up and give him a shot at being in the top 3 rounds. On the other hand, as we've seen before, sometimes it's better just to dive into the NFL and not risk injury.

Selfishly, I want him back. Unselfishly, I think it's tough to say what's the best decision for him. It's not clear-cut. A breakout Senior campaign and he might make more money in the NFL.

I called it "battered" because of the context of the teams that JJ play on and how I suspect that colors the perception of his play. He had no control over that. The blocking, the fight for the ball, the versatility, the big plays and the attitude JJ showed when healthy were extraordinary. Yeah the comment was tongue and cheek. I enjoyed and was impressed by JJ's play during a time when we all wished that the team performed better. I credit him for that. Not sure why so much effort has gone in to attempting to negate my view. Please feel free to maintain your own.

Sorry but those numbers are not great. Start looking at the numbers per game. I like Jennings and will always remember him for that Hail Mary catch. His numbers are pedestrian for receivers at Tennessee.

I guess my take would be if he goes in the 5 th he's gonna get a prove it contract anyway... then make your money in your second deal if u pan out. If he stays and given his history at being ok most of the time with a twice a year clutch game winning catch how much can he expect to improve? Is third round money that big of a jump to risk getting injured ? I personally don't think speed wise and size wise he is gonna be anything better than a late second even with a great year here.He is gonna be a niche player with great route runner(s) who need some depth and blocking ability. The kid can block downfield like a mofo... New Orleans could be a great place.

I believe Chaney will make him a star. I hope he stays. He is a poor student though. It has always been his weakness.

So....if the staff changes Jauan and the family’s mind...I am impressed. The decision was made. Have not been officially told their minds have changed. I hope he stays

His family has to officially tell you? Or you just mean you haven't heard it from them so you don' t believe it yet? (I'm not sure what your relationship is to players is why I'm curious.)
