Drew Richmond and Eli Wolf enter transfer portal

Yes. Crazy some think his 17 catches for the season screams playmaker. Smh
Takes two to tango Chief. Gotta actually throw him the ball for him to have catches. He’s gotta get better at in-line blocking, but when he was utilized at all last year, you could see he was talented. Chaney likes to make the TE position an integral part of his offense....I think we’ll see much more utilization of and production from DWA this year.

Unproven. Havent you learned yet? Half these guys wont become much at all. Look at our 10 best from this class and just forget about 4-5 of them.

Thanks. Unfortunately more than a few fans get star gazed visions of grandeur because some guy at Rivals put an extra star by thier name when they were in HS. Then when they get here and are avg players among many, these same folks trash the young man and call him a bust etc. Ignorant and unlearned.

I appreciate you doing your part to educate.

Major disappointment. Yes.
You guys got some displaced disappointment imo. Would’ve liked to have seen more from DWA, but he can’t catch the ball if they don’t throw it to him. Imho, much more appropriate to put that “disappointment energy” toward the worst OL in college football than a new TE who was given very, very few opportunities to produce.

They both probably saw the writing on the wall. Good luck to both if they end up transferring.

If that’s what you’re relying on, two true freshmen OTs starting in the SEC, you’re about to be sorely disappointed imo.

I was replying @ Richmond. You talking bout DWA? I think he's gonna be a stud next yr.

WA would line up out wide and couldn't come down with a ball. Sure the coaching used him like he was Gronk, but the guy was hardly a playmaker.

Hard to come down with the ball when the QB is getting beat to Hell all game long, and throwing it just out of his reach 70% of the time.

Drew is a matador.

Yeah, I thought he was ruffling a red cape at a few DEs, yelling Ole, and jumping aside just as the Guarantano got to the wrong spot at the wrong time. He ought to go down to Mexico and give that a whirl before PETA migrates down there.

He could join the coach he almost joined last time. Hugh Freeze at Liberty would probably love to have him.

I am still amazed to learn that Liberty has a football team. I thought they just played in the XBOX league with schools like Wichita State and Marquette.

Out of reach 70% of the time? Tough to miss 70% of your passes when you complete 62% of your passes. Math doesn’t exactly add up. Obviously agree that JG was under constant pressure and got hit on AT LEAST 70% of his dropbacks. Hell, he got hit on hot passes where he didn’t even drop.

Biggest reasons DWA didn’t put up bigger numbers is due to Pruitt wanting a power run game requiring the TE to stay in to block.....which led to him getting very few overall targets. He had 17 catches in 8 games ....I doubt he had more than 25-30 targets for the entire year and I bet that increases significantly with Chaney running the show.

We will have two freshman OT's coming in that could beat out Richmond. No worries.
This is true, I was hoping Richmond would buy in and work hard to be the player he is capable of. This team needs depth. With that being said, hope Richmond puts it together somewhere.. Good luck to him in his future endeavors!

It's like they don't actually watch the game.. They just look at recorded numbers...

Both chose to be Vols. Wolf is a former walk on that earned a scholarship. I hope they both find success at their next destination.

He can't block!

What happens when you go into the portal and you discover no one wants you?
If you're serious with the question the interesting thing is once they enter the portal the current school doesn't have to accept them back or offer a scholarship. Which means you better be dang sure when you throw your name in the ring that you actually are gonna go somewhere else. If (in our case) you are needing to trim your scholarship roster and have recruited over current talent this can be a slam dunk.
