Drew Richmond and Eli Wolf enter transfer portal

Chaney didn’t use TE’s hardly at all at UGA. Had Nauta, Ford, and other 4*’s too. I’m more interested to see how he utilizes ty chandler and Marques callaway.
Was Chaney here when Mychael Rivera was? He was statistically one of the greatest receiving TEs in Tennessee history.

Underutilizing tight ends is a UT tradition. We hardly used Jason Witten at all.
He started three games as a sophomore, registering 28 receptions for 293 yards and two touchdowns.[7] He scored his first collegiate touchdown in a 35–24 victory over Alabama.[8] As a junior, he had a breakout year, setting school records for a tight end in receptions (39) and receiving yards (493) with five touchdowns, including one of the most memorable receptions in school history, a game-winning touchdown in the sixth overtime against the University of Arkansas.[9][10] He received All-SEC (SEC) and Academic All-SEC honors after leading the conference's tight ends in receptions and receiving yards.[11]
Even though he decided to enter the NFL Draft after his junior season and had played the position in only 20 games, he left ranked third all-time among the school's tight ends with 68 career receptions and fourth all-time with 797 receiving yards.

Eli was a Butch fanboy who was given a scholarship while playing as a walk-on. Should be grateful to just get a paid education. Not sure what it means to go elsewhere.

Confused as to why Richmond is leaving. He has a good staff to get him to play to the best of his ability. I guess he didn't have the mental makeup to tough it out and compete with the incoming freshman. I still remember everyone chanting for Richmond at the basketball game and painting the rock to recruit him when he was in HS on a recruiting trip....I guess that is as high as it got for him while he was here.

Seemed like Pruitt liked Eli as well. Played a decent amount for somebody who was a butch fan boy lucky to be on the team. Also I’d say Richmond played in a couple pretty nice wins. That’s higher than a recruiting trip.

797 CAREER yards proves the point.

When did the term "transfer portal" become a thing and why is everyone using it like we've been saying it for decades?

10/15/18 part of notification to transfer bylaw that takes away schools' abilty to control transfers. Kid just says he's leaving and he can go wherever he wants. Before he had to be given specific allowance to speak to each individual school and was often denied altogether or from going to conference foes.

We will have two freshman OT's coming in that could beat out Richmond. No worries.

Unproven. Havent you learned yet? Half these guys wont become much at all. Look at our 10 best from this class and just forget about 4-5 of them.

If my maths are correct and these three are gone then we need 5 more to leave to take a full 25 this year (24 + Solomon)...

10 EEs and getting rid of dead weight is definitely a recipe for success

DR is guaranteed to play lot of minutes. Hardly dead weight lol. Like it or not hes about the best we have.

Why so many butthurt he hasnt lived up to your expectation? Either way hes started lots of games, so hes been one of our best 5.

Ok so the nomenclature changed with the rule change. Gotcha! Thanks for the info.

That's basically 2 catches a game...so yeah.

cool cherry pick.

14.3 YPC. 430 yards and 3TD as a junior in a loaded offense.
Underused compared to Jason Witten - He had 39 grabs for 493( a lower avg for those bad at the maths) but 2 more TD's. He was a 3rd round pick though and a 1st ballot hall of famer/. is Nauta?

Underused compared to Zach Ertz? As a junior he had just 27 catches for 346 yards. Again lower avg per catch. That bum had to come back as a senior to get drafted in the 2nd round.

Nauta had 5 grabs less than Mecole Hardman.

I get it you want to make a point so you went all hyperbolic.

A bust? What the heck. The guy caught passes and TDs for us. His blocking looked lost at times. But, I'm pretty stoked he'll be playing for us this fall.

Bust has seemed to expand it's meaning recently.

So just because you record a few stats, you’re automatically not a bust? Lol.

Considering the hype, he was a major disappointment in his first year.

Judge them as a player.

I seriously doubt Drew was asked to leave, but when he broached the idea I'm sure no one tried to change his mind.

Best of luck to him, I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
