He started three games as a sophomore, registering 28 receptions for 293 yards and two touchdowns.[7] He scored his first collegiate touchdown in a 35–24 victory over Alabama.[8] As a junior, he had a breakout year, setting school records for a tight end in receptions (39) and receiving yards (493) with five touchdowns, including one of the most memorable receptions in school history, a game-winning touchdown in the sixth overtime against the University of Arkansas.[9][10] He received All-SEC (SEC) and Academic All-SEC honors after leading the conference's tight ends in receptions and receiving yards.[11]Underutilizing tight ends is a UT tradition. We hardly used Jason Witten at all.
Eli was a Butch fanboy who was given a scholarship while playing as a walk-on. Should be grateful to just get a paid education. Not sure what it means to go elsewhere.
Confused as to why Richmond is leaving. He has a good staff to get him to play to the best of his ability. I guess he didn't have the mental makeup to tough it out and compete with the incoming freshman. I still remember everyone chanting for Richmond at the basketball game and painting the rock to recruit him when he was in HS on a recruiting trip....I guess that is as high as it got for him while he was here.
797 CAREER yards proves the point. He started three games as a sophomore, registering 28 receptions for 293 yards and two touchdowns.[7] He scored his first collegiate touchdown in a 35–24 victory over Alabama.[8] As a junior, he had a breakout year, setting school records for a tight end in receptions (39) and receiving yards (493) with five touchdowns, including one of the most memorable receptions in school history, a game-winning touchdown in the sixth overtime against the University of Arkansas.[9][10] He received All-SEC (SEC) and Academic All-SEC honors after leading the conference's tight ends in receptions and receiving yards.[11]
Even though he decided to enter the NFL Draft after his junior season and had played the position in only 20 games, he left ranked third all-time among the school's tight ends with 68 career receptions and fourth all-time with 797 receiving yards.
When did the term "transfer portal" become a thing and why is everyone using it like we've been saying it for decades?
If my maths are correct and these three are gone then we need 5 more to leave to take a full 25 this year (24 + Solomon)...
10 EEs and getting rid of dead weight is definitely a recipe for success
10/15/18 part of notification to transfer bylaw that takes away schools' abilty to control transfers. Kid just says he's leaving and he can go wherever he wants. Before he had to be given specific allowance to speak to each individual school and was often denied altogether or from going to conference foes.
That's basically 2 catches a game...so yeah.
A bust? What the heck. The guy caught passes and TDs for us. His blocking looked lost at times. But, I'm pretty stoked he'll be playing for us this fall.
Bust has seemed to expand it's meaning recently.
