And maybe you’d learn how to use commas and semicolons, how not to write run-on sentences, or how to root for a team without throwing all critical analysis of them out of the window. If only I were the free-thinker you are, Darth; then maybe my closed mind (a term you seem to have bonded yourself to) wouldnt think such harshness, which then become posts, after reading the same spiel from OP over and over and over again.
Not to mention women’s basketball is better than it ever has been and keeps getting better. 10 years ago you may have had a handful of programs that could compete with the UConn and LVs. Now you have about 20. On the court and recruiting. Like holly or not but we will probably never see a run like pat again just Bc of what she did to the sport and how relevant she made it.It just can’t, man. Pat was one of a kind.
I know everyone is upset with Holly but I just feel bad for her most of the time. Pat was her best friend. They were sisters. She was closer to Pat than anyone else. Her best friend was taken away from her by that terrible disease and she was tasked with doing the impossible of living up to the standard arguably the greatest basketball coach of all time set.
I don’t envy her.
What makes him on of the best in the league? Tell me about what you love about his scheme...Our offense was bad 3/4 years he was here... and during those 3 he had comparable or maybe even better talent than he would this coming up year with us... he had a very good offense his last year with us with about 6 NFL players including QB and maybe the most dynamic player we’ve ever had in CP....to pair with the worst defense in our history probably to keep getting possessions. I constantly remember his play calling costing us late in games that year and people being irate about it.
Also...Why is Georgia slow playing his contract and stripping his duties?
Holly's a good person and a dedicated alum who grew up in the program and loves it. If you love something, you have to do what's best for it. Hire people to do what you can't, find assistants whose strengths balance your weaknesses, bring in consultants to help fix problems that are holding the team back. Don't let the program backslide to the point where UT is no longer elite and make the AD and your long-time friend have to fire you when he clearly doesn't want to do that.
I don't care all that much about WBB, either, but I do care about maintaining UT's position in marquee sports we used to dominate and I cared greatly about Pat.
Agree on all points. I hate to say this but you can’t blame the AD for the hire as she was handpicked by Pat. She got a contract extension from CPF because of the optics to recruits. This is an elite program and any coach wanting to move up would jump at the opportunity. Holly was doomed to fail following a legend.
