Holly's a good person and a dedicated alum who grew up in the program and loves it. If you love something, you have to do what's best for it. Hire people to do what you can't, find assistants whose strengths balance your weaknesses, bring in consultants to help fix problems that are holding the team back. Don't let the program backslide to the point where UT is no longer elite and make the AD and your long-time friend have to fire you when he clearly doesn't want to do that.

I don't care all that much about WBB, either, but I do care about maintaining UT's position in marquee sports we used to dominate and I cared greatly about Pat.

So many reports from people who don’t know. Some said gut is Sark but they really don’t know. Who is it now? They don’t know. Freeze to UT,FSU, or Bama but ends up at Liberty.

Seriously though, I don’t know how you could honestly describe your position as anything other than closed-minded. You literally said you’ll consider (my) differing opinion garbage no matter how wrong you may be. That’s pretty much a textbook definition. But acknowledging hard-to-swallow truths isn’t for everybody, I guess.


Nice job ignoring all the other parts of that post, btw. I still don’t get how saying that we’re 3+ years from an SEC championship is being negative about our recruiting.

Not to mention women’s basketball is better than it ever has been and keeps getting better. 10 years ago you may have had a handful of programs that could compete with the UConn and LVs. Now you have about 20. On the court and recruiting. Like holly or not but we will probably never see a run like pat again just Bc of what she did to the sport and how relevant she made it.

Just think our current personnel would be a disaster in what he likes to do and i don’t like him on the trail. Just think we can do better.

I see Chaney at best as a B coordinator and a D recruiter.

C hire which is how i would grade it.

I don’t care for Hyams as a person or a reporter, but it would be hilarious if he was the lone media member who got things right after the terrible year of reporting he’s had lol

Agree on all points. I hate to say this but you can’t blame the AD for the hire as she was handpicked by Pat. She got a contract extension from CPF because of the optics to recruits. This is an elite program and any coach wanting to move up would jump at the opportunity. Holly was doomed to fail following a legend.

I agree. Good post.

She hired a great recruiter a couple of years back. That has saved her job thus far.
