Too low. Coley way more experienced as a play caller than Helton and way better recruiter. If this resembled serious, $1.2 mil per is the beginning number. Now he got a raise last year so an actual buyout (as opposed to Chaney) affects that number. We pay his buyout and then give him a raise if he delivers. Still don’t see this as serious speculation.
There might be a reason you don’t see it as serious speculation.

I’d be interested in interviewing Kingsbury if for no other reason than to figure out how he evaluates QB talent.

Guy found Mahomes and Mayfield when they barely had any offers.
Mayfield was a walk-on who ultimately transferred because he got benched, so I’m not sure he gets much credit there.

I’ll give him a little credit for Mahomes I guess, but he still won jack diddly with him.

My personal preference is attempting some kind of "exciting" offense and agree on Lebby, Freeze, or Yurcich.
But will move Chaney to mini boom status for proven aspect and Pruitt coming out relatively smelling like a rose after this long.

Tee falls under any huge recruiter added as a PC. I'd boom anyone for that.
Give me Friend and Tee and let’s run the ball down everyone’s throat with our great players.

Any chance someone can get Pruitt to hang out with him for a little while
He is more like Barnes than the public knows. After the WVU game he asked the training staff when players could get treatment on Sunday. The trainers gave him hours for Sunday morning only. He told them they would be open until the afternoon so players could attend church if they wanted to. He is honest with his guys just like Barnes and they respect him for it, at least the ones that want to work and make the team better. It will take time but the results will come. I’ve heard this from current players, even one that was expecting to play bigger role. CJP was honest with the player and he respects the heck out of him for it unlike how CBJ is behind the scenes.

Can’t wait to see what Coley has in store

Guys... guys... my sources stated that the war room met this morning. Coley was interviewed and that the actual rate is 3 yrs at $3.8mil. Also, they stated that Tee Martin was comin as well. Possibly as RBs coach.

Seems kind of tongue in cheek, but stuff like this is why I think it was probably a good idea to slow play the hire and focus on recruiting once Freeze was out. This time of year you never know who’s going to come open for a job and you may miss out on a guy you really like if you rush to hire someone just to fill the position.
That's how we ended up with Dooley

I choose to believe Pruitt isn't an idiot. Trying to hire people that are no-hires to his bosses and his conference or waiting around a month for guys who don't want the job and are playing him, hoping to find one they do want would be idiotic. So I'm going to believe that Pruitt isn't doing that and is, instead, going about things a different way.

Both were 3 stars in Texas which translates to 4 stars in other states. Those are the backbone of programs like Texas Tech and TCU. Mayfield bet on himself a few times in his short career, taking up Kingsbury on a PWO offer and promised eventual scholarship that was reneged on, was the first. I give him credit for developing them but we see the talent that eased that more than a few degrees.

I really need to watch some of the offense from Friend's OC time. Never thought he would be/take the OC role, so didn't familiarize myself.
I don’t think there’s very much to look for. We saw a lot of it last year.

Which isn’t a great sign, I’ll grant you, but maybe better players + a year of familiarity with the system makes a difference.

I think Chaney is average at best and no one will convince me other wise. I watched his offenses here for 4 years and there is a reason he has been a drifter and Georgia has stripped responsibilities from him and are slow playing him with a contract. I know I’m in the minority for that but that’s how i feel.

Same here. I just can't get excited about having J. Chaney as OC. We went down that road before and fans were wanting to throw Chaney out of town. Too many other options out there.

I don’t get the freak out about the time being taken on this search. If he would have hired someone ASAP and it didn’t work out fans would have been all over him. As long as he has his guy by spring practice then we are fine. I’m actually glad he has been slow with the hire. It beats rushing and making the wrong decision like Mike Hamilton was known for.

Boom! We've upped the ante. I like it. Word should spread pretty fast on this. Expect word to start leaking soon.

Sark is not coming back to college. Accept it.

Just asking the question...I know that would be his first choice (NFL), but he might have more value in the college game, with his supposed recruiting abilities...I am not dead set on any one person. I just hope it is the one we wanted/needed, not the leftovers we had to settle for.

Would love for us to get someone off UGA's staff for OC. Not for their supposed expertise, just to poach off of our biggest rival. It would be the Fulmer way, because I think he learned a big lesson when our best recruiter went to UGA many years ago, and likely was part of the beginning of his downfall as HC.
Happened twice! Kevin Ramsey kept the gravy train rolling after Donnan poached Garner. So he nabbed him. Double edged sword tho. He gave both on field coaching roles to seal the deal. Garner has always been a passable DL coach, but Ramsey went one and out as DC/DBs coach.
