Pruitt didn't trust Helton because his play calling sucked not because of experience.

Exactly. When your HC is basically controlling the defense and in a presser has to state well I guess I am going to have to pay more attention to the offense after a game, that alone shows that he lost the confidence in Helton’s play calling.

He wants someone he doesn’t have to babysit who will call the game the way it needs to be called so he can focus on the defense. Just like Saban and Smart.

I don’t understand the the CoOC theory with Tee and Lebby. That’s two pretty different offenses. Lebby is a Briles guy correct?

Come on man it's clear if Lebby is hired Pruitt tried to get the experienced guys first.

It's very clear. Doesn't make it negative it just makes it reality
No, it's clear that's yer opinion and it's clear you are trying to make whatever is reported sound negative. It's also clear that we don't even know if it's Lebby. Just because someone mentioned he MAY be back in play doesn't mean he will be hired. It's clear that none of us really know anything so making declarative statements and judgements over all this speculation is silly. But CLEARLY I know that is yer favorite thing to do so I don't expect anything else. This whole debate is just for entertainment.

IMO no. He just wasn't creative. I have always maintained that is not something you learn, you either have a knack for it or you don't.
I think his lack of experience led to Pruitt's lack of trust. I believe having been there and have done something counts for something. If you've seen it before and called a play that worked against it, you probably are going to be more successful against it. I think experience is huge when it comes to being a successful OC in the SEC.

The alternative is just to keep hiring guys until you discover one that "has it".

I think you have one 5 star recruit commit every week until the start of the season to distract the fan base and just have him show up in the coaches box for game 1.
Or do you:

Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Lebby to the levee but the levee was dry
And them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye
Singin' this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die

Exact same here.
Thankfully, my mother's appears to be progressing very slowly and she has responded well to medication.

Respect and best wishes to you and everyone here that is dealing or has dealt with this.

It's been 8 years for me. My dad is a really well know minister that traveled every week but 8 yrs. ago I started noticing that he is forgetting Pastor's names that he had know for years. He preached at some of the largest Baptist church's in America and knew these guys for a long time. Then began asking me their names. I had to make sure he didn't forget anything when it was time to fly or drive home. He had a sharp mind remembering people in each congregation all over the country but that started to change. Just little things like that and also began to repeat and using the same phrases no matter what message he preached. Having travel and heard him for so many years started picking up on things that most couldn't. Now, can't remember my name nor my mom's. Has no clue how many kids he has and cannot complete a sentence or thought. Just a short picture of how it went for me. If I can be of any help to anyone or be an encouragement to ya let me know.

Wait, are with cool with a Lebby hire or nah?
This is the take I gave when we first heard his name and I’m sticking to it:

If it's Lebby I will choose to be positive and believe he's the second coming of Kendal Briles until he proves otherwise. I mean, nobody knows how he'd be as a play caller so might as well be optimistic, right?

I didn’t necessarily take the VQ quote to mean that both Martin and Lebby could both come aboard as co-OC. I took it that it might take a co-OC title to get Tee on board. I’d like it if they brought both on board though, especially if they are bringing Lebby in to install Briles’s system.

Yea he blew it because he didn't have a play book

Like Ron said Lebby spent his Christmas break on the computer creating that playbook
Nah. Blew it because he channeled his inner Bruin. Prolly argued with Pruitt about something below meaningless and wrote him a pious farewell letter before going to the bathroom.

Had my 1st daughter die at birth and my 3month old died this month last year. I get it man. I have a 3 year old daughter now as well. Despite the events, the Lord is faithful. Pressing in deeper.

Hugs Aaron. I guess what I was trying clumsily to convey to StoVol, is that they were best friends for a reason. The 14 year old needs him and his friend needs him to be there for his son. It doesn't seem like life is good right now, but it is. I sometimes mourn my son at weird, random moments. My occasional sadness is for me, though; not for him. He accomplished what he was sent here to do; I may not know what that is but I know that it is.
