Checking out early to save yourself to go pro is getting called out by the TV crew for not sealing your edge and whiffing your blocking. He also didn't show much max effort in grabbing some balls that were snagged just a few games ago. Meanwhile, his counterpart across the field is playing injured and giving his all because he hates to lose and hates vandy.

Bingo. Almost typed it but deleted three times. He’s been putting forth great effort cause he’s been ready to get out of dodge since early on.

Callaway definitely looks checked out to me. Something wasn't right.

If you guys are talking about MC...Then why did he bother to come back this week? If you are talking about somebody else then I am confused.

He’s a good kid but I was told he wasn’t coming back early on. These kids talk to each other and good players can still experience culture shock. Think he was protecting himself because he was injured.

One more note from yesterday. I talked to my Dad who watched the game yesterday. He thought JG was still woozy from last weeks hit.

That's just how he normally looks to me. Just doesn't give off the IT factor to me. Tough a spot nails and great arm talent but doesn't give me the Follow me to victory vibes.

Calloway is literally one of the last people anyone should question effort. Dude is a professional. He’s just now a fake rah rah guy.

Maybe it was the injuries then cuz he looked off yesterday. Never have felt that way about him before though. Maybe it was just the whole team vibe getting to him

And coach said his counterpart wasn't full strength yesterday, but he still busted his azz out there while getting mugged and doubled..

Really wish he'd come back next year... All it takes is him and JJ coming back, a few others, O line improving, some new talent stepping up, and all of a sudden we are a little more solid and experienced.

It’s awful these last 7 years.

Although it’s kind of cute with the out state thing. They aren’t even the big man on their own campus, let alone stadium, let alone city, let alone state.

Wreaks of inferiority. I hope when we pound them next year none of our players spew that pee wee stuff.

I still remember back when I was growing up there and they beat us in one of those rare occasions, probably 1975. It seemed like all of their fans had bumper stickers that said, "Vanderbilt - THE University of Tennessee". That's when I came to hate them, and pity them at the same time.

When a 110% effort guy goes to meh whatever it becomes glaringly obvious.

It's also a perfect example to folks saying starters didn't slack off yesterday..umm, excuse me, but yes they did and some were ones you'd least expect it from.

Don't get me wrong, it was our job to stop them so not gonna whine.
But I hope Pruitt remembers them going for it on 4th and throwing TD's after the game was decided. Don't complain in any way, just remember.

Big difference between “protecting yourself” and quitting or not caring. Not one person has suggested Callaway was a cancer, quitted or didn’t care. Bad example
