They are. They are hitting a high percentage of shots. Shooting better from the free throw line than we are, and right now they're wanting it just a tad more too. Weve played well on offense, but our defense has not caused them to be uncomfortable much at all. Not defending the 3 at all either.

Barnes has a very good team that can go a long way in the NCAA Tournament if they stay healthy. I know they have a really solid starting five and a pretty good bench. The one concern I have is their free throw shooting. They shot better from the free throw line last year with the same players. Maybe it's just a lack of concentration. Bad free throw shooting will get you beat in close games.

I watched the replay a half dozen times already on ESPN. Same look every time. Defender has a right to his space as long as he goes straight up. The guy that actually blocked the shot got all ball. No one but you and the Duke fanbase thinks it was a foul.
Duke fan. No foul.

Yea I’d prefer to never be No. 1

You think just because we beat an unranked Louisville, all of a sudden we are the 'ish? We are a really good team, but watching Marquette and Kansas-- they play fast and confident and are not scared to go to the rim... we come out and play consistent and aren't afraid to go to the rim and we can hang with anyone...

The bottom is bad. A&M has multiple losses, UF has already lost twice, UGA just got killed by Georgia State, Bama lost to Northeastern, USC lost to a low major, Missouri is not good, OM won’t be great, and MSU, who is ranked, just lost. Very mediocre after UK, Auburn, us, and maybe LSU.

MSU will be good. Like UT, they returned all their starters and added some new talent. LSU has several young 5*s. Ark returns Gafford and added some young talent around him. Gators have talent. Vandy has good young talent. I don't put much too much stock in losses this time of year, as most teams that are adding new parts will have growing pains and have to get everyone working as a unit. UT still working some rust off both offensively and defensively. Even if you are going up against mid-majors this time of year, if those are veteran teams will good coaching they can give you fits as we saw with Chicago-Loyola and Nevada in the tourney last season. Heck, UT fits that type. I think there are 7-8 SEC teams capable of making the tourney again this season, the key will be how well the respective coaching staffs of those schools can get their kids playing together and to their potential. If not, then you will likely be correct, because I am really just projecting what some of these teams could potentially be in 3 months or so.

Free throw shooting is a concern for me as well. We know what they're capable of from last year. My hope is they'll get their touch back as the season progresses. They've been disappointing so far this year.

Hey Invol how is your mom? Its your mom right that has Dementia? Hospice has come in and they put my dad on some really strong meds trying to keep him calmed down as he is getting more agitated now more than ever but they made me stumble alot and he fell a couple of days ago hit his head on an marble top end table and split his head open. They sent him to the ER and he got 4 staples. They took him off of those now and looking for something else. My mom found this wonderful lady who has worked with Hospice and Dementia patience for over 40 yrs. She is really good with him and has taken a lot of stress off of my mom and me as I am over there almost everyday taking care of them both. I hope things are going good for you well as good as things can go in these situations.

Also...👀👀👀

Freshman Jeremy Banks was working exclusively with the first-team defense at ILB during the open period.

I’d consider that both an endorsement of him making a full-time move and the health of the RB group.
And preparation for next year when sapp and possibly Kirkland transfer.

Kirkland showed so much promise but after his injury, he seems like totally different player and not in a good way. Seems slower, doesn't really hit or tackle with meanness like he did last year. Would hate to see him transfer but he could get beat out by JJ or one of the Freshman ILB coming in. Sapp, same thing. At one time showed promise but now can't get on the field with a bad roster.
