I'm still kinda shocked that the SchiaNO protests worked. How crazy is that? It was a done deal and the fans said "WTF hell no" and then it wasn't a done deal anymore.
I can't wait for the 30 for 30 to come out about this when I'm 60. I can tell my grandchildren that their grandpappy was the one on Twitter who wrote, "Schiano?? WTF ARE YOU DOING CURRIE GTFO."

If we had signed Doeren, I don't know if I could appropriately express my level of apathy.

/r/cfb was like "He's the most proven option. Y'all should love a Doeren hire" and I'm like, he's proven like Kia is a proven car. No tf thanks.

I went to bed and it was “his job to take.” Couldn’t believe he turned it down. He feared the fury of our fan base. Schianomo part 2 was cocked and loaded but we lacked the justifiable Penn State coverup to successfully power that one down

I think many people don't even realize the lengths he and haslam went to pull off that stunt. Wasted a lot of big money peoples time and jerked board member around. Conference calls full of lies of progress with certain candidate he wasn't even dealing with. There is a reason the outrage was so strong. Media likes to blame fans for the revolt but we were just the face. The real reason things changed was the guys in the background had enough and were extremely pissed at the shady ways they tried to basically steal their money. They don't change their hire because if fans. They changed it because the money was about to be gone

Currie was willing to try and tamper the fan flames (that he didn't fathom on the front end), the other inferno was well outside his swing. Jimmy's arrogant azz didn't care either way.

They interviewed that Celina Summers on Ainge's show yesterday. She studied, maybe wrote a book about ShiaNO. Said it changed the landscape of how universities make high profile hiring decisions. Said it makes them accountable. Said the days of showing up with signs is over and that colleges everywhere took notice.

Would make an excellent 100 page book from a well researched author with connections for interviews

Jimmy has proven time and time again to be the worst of the capitalistic system. Take advantage of the gifts given to you by being born to a rich family and use it to buy influence and ruin everything you touch.

I want to read that book for sure.

In the offseason Cole Cubelic said Tennessee is basically the hardest job in the SEC. The fan expectations are enormous and the fanbase is highly combustible and will turn on you quickly. The administration is bogged down by infighting and instability. The instate talent is solid but not sufficient to sustain the program at at least a mediocre level in down times (unlike Florida, etc). And new coaches usually inherit a miserable roster in the face of all these negative headwinds.

After watching the coaching search (No one on any of our top 10 lists was remotely interested) and how this season has gone and how many people are looking for reasons to turn on Pruitt and this coaching staff so soon, I think he’s probably right.
I think the fans at Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Florida and LSU are just as bad if not worse. But for some reason there is the perception that Tennessee should be content with being a mediocre team.

Any head coaching job at an SEC blue blood is going to be tough. Over the last 20 years, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, and Alabama have all had issues with instability in leadership or budget.

Really the difference that matters is instate talent. But that matters less as the world gets smaller IMO, and in Tennessee, it’s getting better. It’s not the coach killer you seem to want it to be. It’s the opposite - really bad coaches have killed it.

Yeah, Middle TN has a lot of talent and it's only growing. We are close enough to Atlanta, Charlotte, and even Jacksonville that we can fill out the roster with kids from those areas. We won't be at that big of a disadvantage once Pruitt and co. start winning some games and putting guys in the league. It's like Auburn...they're technically at a huge recruiting disadvantage being second-best in their own state and having to compete with UGA (and everyone else) for Atlanta kids, but they still recruit really well.

Who the hell is looking to turn on Pruitt?? The man beat two ranked opponents that we were heavy underdogs, one on the road. He's already got a solid class that looks to get better if we close on the blue chippers that we're still very much in the hunt. We have an excellent staff, despite what some fans think about our OC...

Just exactly what negativity is out there right now that doesn't exist at any major program??

he's an idiot, that wants to deflect from the fan base he was really describing...his own Auburn Tigers.

there's like 5 people ont his board that rile folks up about the coach, and they're so loud at times and emphatic, and overzealous in the delivery of the message, that it seems like there's this this movement that says the coach is no good.

but all it is is like 5 people that get 100 people frenzied up and make it look a whole lost worse than it really is.

i wonder which group you're in??????????????????????lol.

It's hilarious that Currie's incompetence and utter disregard for the program was interpreted by most of us as him being savvy as hell and one step ahead of the game.
I was completely and utterly dead wrong about Currie. But I gave him a chance to prove me wrong...and he was successful at that.

Morris should have went big 12 or acc. He will have Arky competitive based on his system and recruiting. He doesn't need highest calbre athlete to have nice offense. Chavis can have capable defense. Problem is the division is so brutal it may never turn into wins. I like Chad. Think he is one of the good ones in the profession. Probably picked the wrong spot though
I think Chavis is going down the Monte Kiffin path.

I still believe in Kelly and Taggart. One bad year doesn’t kill them for me.

Morris might not make it but I think that has a lot to do with Arkansas being a ****** job.
I actually think in a couple years Morris will have done the best job followed by Kelly and Taggart will be the first fired. Morris is putting together a nice ‘19 class. Once he gets his guys in there he’ll have a Mullen type Miss st run.

I'm seriously over the cockiness of the Missouri fans. I enjoy the comeback of saying, "At least I've had the joy of watching my team win a national championship in my lifetime," but I'm ready for Pruitt to get the horses that can run roughshod over them. They only got a taste of the big orange juggernaut in 2015 and 2016.
