Seems reasonable to expect to see something significant after 3 years. I just keep seeing all this '5-7 years minimum' and 'give him an extension now to shut the fans up' stuff and I get triggered.
i haven't seen too much of the 5-7 year stuff. and if there has been extension talk i probably glossed over it. we're no where near that yet.
i just don't get the hand wringing.
i might be one that would tell you that that game Saturday night was probably the best game we've played all year, even the Auburn game.
like i said, penalties and stop the run. and we win that game handily. from a game plan, play calling and execution stand point, it was much better than Auburn. we were able to run the ball...Jordan actually looked pretty good. JG was getting rid of the ball quicker and we were getting yac that resulted in 1st downs.
the long balls we got against Auburn were great....but it's hard to make a living on 30 yard down field back shoulder throws on 3rd and 9+ as an offensive philosophy. Saturday night they went out and executed the plan they wanted to for the majority of the game. that was good to see.
but you gotta get USCe off the field, and you can't have dumb penalties, or, as we saw, it can bite you in the arse.
pruitt hasn't sugar coated it, and he's not been lying to us as to what this teams issues are.
the great unknown is can he fix it, at least in so much as for it to matter to the results of the next 4 games? and the answer may be ...no he can't. and then you just have to decide is that a function of him being a bad head coach, or we just don't have a very good team, not capable of doing it?
if the answer is yes he did....then at some point, if you're going to hand wring as much as many have the past few days, then you're gonna have to give some credit at some point.
or are we going to fall back on "anyone could go to the birmingham bowl at a place like TN"?
i feel like that's the road we're headed down if that's what happens, and if that's the case, then there really is no winning.
just differen levels of losing.
