I'd be dropping some serious fireworks or a quarter stick of dynamite in that hole if I were you.
Time to introduce Mr. Snake to Mr. Squirrel and Mr. Rabbit.

Everyone saw against bama that chryst has a quicker release and internal clock. Threw it away quickly a few times etc. I’ve said it since fall camp opened and now some finally seen it/admit .

Better get a smaller brush because I didn't see that at all.

It's a known fact that pass rush slows as the games go on especially on the 6,7,8 or even 9th possession in a single half.

Its also a strong trend for teams to slow down on blitz calls when games are out of hand

With that said I saw a team in Bama that was playing with their hair on fire and in serious attack mode their first 4 possessions on defense. They were bringing the house until JG and 84 took the top of the the defense by hitting the long play. I then saw a defense that tired and understood their offesne could name their score and played much more basic.

So NO everyone didn't see what you saw

I don't think him replacing the senior who has played every game ( that Pruitt convinced to stay rather than transfer) is that obvious. But hey, you do you, man...

For all we know, this is about finding depth behind Bituli because, quite frankly, Quarte Sapp looked out of place at ILB subbing for the first half against Alabama.

How did Sapp look out of place?? He had the most tackles on the entire defense for the first half!

Exactly. This is spot on. If you are slow in your drop and you don’t move well inside the pocket you get destroyed. Watch Tua play. The guy can’t be much faster than JG but the way he moves inside the pocket to avoid defenders and extend plays is brilliant. We gave him a dirty pocket to throw out of multiple times and he stepped up and out of it a lot. If you need a clean pocket to be able to produce then you aren’t a good QB.

It's my biggest issue with JG and I'm critical about it because it keeps him from being the QB the whole country is talking about. His drops and clock are as if he expects a clean pocket every time. He is not good at manuevering in the pocket under duress. No escapbility for such an athletic kid is mindblowing. If he could learn to feel what is happening around him and move around in the pocket he would be unstoppable.

People take seeing someone miss a tackle once or twice as always being out of place. When in reality if he keeps his feet like Pruitt is preaching he makes Those tackles. He was in the right spot twice on missed tackles but there are several guys that have old habits of diving and reaching instead of keeping feet and running through. Pruitt has gotten a few guys to change that from early in season to now.

I need somebody to make me feel better about tomorrow cause right now I'm going down the roller coaster.
it's saturday, and the rain should stop.

as far as football goes, i got nothin. i'm on the same ride. in the end, i don't feel good about it.

It’s amazing at just how poorly coached those Butch Jones teams were. Don’t think many of us realized it until we finally got an actual football coach. Pretty sad he’s having to teach basic fundamentals to upper classmen.

I think JG does hold on to the ball too long sometimes. I think we all should see that.

So what are the results of not fearing contact.
Imo the results are more fumbles, more sacks, a higher chance of injury AND less Interceptions, higher completion %, shorter games and more plays made down the field.

So there is some give and take.
So far I haven't see anything to convince me that KC gives more positives than JG although Sat was a step toward that against Bama

Trey smith loss throws me for a loop on what happens but I mean this game is always close no matter where it is played. It's a tough place to play but not one that isn't winnable. Their offense isn't good. I'm sure they will have some new wrinkles coming off a bye to get a score early but we will adjust. I think we will be prepared. Apparently we were already working a lot of the short quick pass game stuff before the trey news so sounds like we already knew the ball would need to come out quick or we are going to start using it more for our run game.

No reason to be depressed. It will be a close game so we should have a chance at some point to either take the game or not

Serious question. Did Butch Jones actually play football at any point in his life? Did he play in high school?

I remember seeing the band pics and all that, and most kids can't play football and be in the marching band because the band performs during football games.

Anyway, no experience playing would explain why he wasn't a good on-field coach and just walked around with a microphone during practice instead of coaching any technique.

Worked for this guy.
