We typically have 2 ILB on the field at once so I assume who ever the other one is. I doubt Banks would ever be the only ILB on the field. Probably only for blitzes and maybe some plays they think will be a run

So, who's he replacing if he gets on the field? Kirkland?

I don't think him replacing the senior who has played every game ( that Pruitt convinced to stay rather than transfer) is that obvious. But hey, you do you, man...

For all we know, this is about finding depth behind Bituli because, quite frankly, Quarte Sapp looked out of place at ILB subbing for the first half against Alabama.

I wasnt arguing. Our coaches aren’t paid to be drill sergeants, are they? I’d much rather have someone who is calm and teaches guys instead of a guy who runs around and screams into a mic until his face turns red at practice. I don’t want someone who curses out players during practice and purposely embarrasses them in front of their teammates to the point they quit like a previous staff did, but I guess that’s just me.
They’re paid to get RESULTS and different styles have achieved that. Give me Vince Lombardi or give me Tom Landry as long as they give me wins.

Your guess is as good as mine. It could just be to add another LB beside Sapp and ignont in the back role, or because they think some will move on and he has a future there. I doubt it’ll be significant this year anyways, maybe similar to Chris Weathered under CBJ.

That was my main point. They’re paid to coach these guys up and win. Not be drill sergeants. If you can’t teach these players how to play during practice without screaming like a maniac I’m not sure coaching is for you

Real coaches know when to turn up the pressure and when to slow it down. All coaches have to "scream like maniacs"
Sometimes. The key is to do it enough to get the kids attention and not so much they turn the coach out

Wonder if Pruitt has visions of Tim Williams when he sees Banks potential at LB in the future. He looks a lot like him and Tim was that dude they would just tell to go get the QB and he would

If he thought that Banks would have been on defense long before he asked to move Their himself

Agree. At the end of the day a Coach is a teacher, even more so for College coaches. It seems Pruitt is great at that part. But if you can’t get your point across or coach them up without screaming like @volfanngatorland said, its a giant issue and you aren’t cut out to coach imo.

I think we agree for the most part but I do think there are times a coach must scream to get across certain points to some players.

I don't think most people here realize how much Rick Barnes coaches that way
