The spirit of competition is getting buried by the Alabama machine. It is going to get where almost nobody cares about CFB anymore if this keeps up for much longer. I mean no one wants to see their college team have literally zero chance to win because they are playing a team that could probably give the worst pro teams a resl game.

And there is no answer to it as long as all the best HS kids keep piling up like cordwood at one school.

Free agency is the answer. The pro's figured it out long ago. One thing that might help is initiating a massive penalty for paying too much for players. I think the NCAA should reduce Bama's scholarship numbers by 10 per year until the playing field is even again. Maybe they could add 10 to everyone else at the same time.

95 Cornroiders would go toe to toe with them. That Blackshirt defense was just as big, powerful and devastating as their offense. That team was a big, beautifully brutal roided up machine.
This Bama Offense would slice up those Nebraska blackshirts.

They were playing a big lumbering 4-3. The speed differential would be un-real...

That Nebraska Offense would pound though.

Dang, if we win this weekend it is very likely that we'll go 8-4. That's crazy to think about when we went 4-8 last year and thought we'd go 3-9 after the Florida game. If that happens that will be an incredible first year for coach Pruitt. Just imagine when he gets better players in here.

Well, we're going to beat Charlotte.
Then, SC, KY, Mizzou, and Vandy are not unbeatable. Ky beat Vandy 14-7 last night and they're the toughest opponent we will face. So, excuse me for being optimistic that we can beat all of them because we can.

We absolutely can beat anyone remaining on our schedule.

Doubtful we get them all but you’re right they’re all very winnable games.

We certainly CAN beat them all. Unlikely that we WILL beat them all.

Among the most grating parts of their dominance is that when you bring it up to their fans, their fans say “well, we were down for a long time so we were due for this.”

I get that if you are Clemson and you win your first title in ~35 years. That no longer applies when you are coasting to a 7th title in 10 years.

I think the ratings for the college football playoff will be telling. If Bama is still rolling everyone by 30 points (as I suspect they will be) then I don’t think nearly as many people watch. I find this to be the least interesting Bama team of the Saban era honestly. Seeing someone score in 1 minute or less has never entertained me.

We have lost 4 games, all to ranked opponents, two in the top 10, and one who has a win over a top ten team in LSU. Sorry, but these remaining teams aren't anywhere near that level and KY, as usual, seems to have fallen.

Is it unlikely we win out? Maybe, because we'll probably play inconsistent. But these teams we are going to play aren't very good. If we beat SC, which may be the toughest since they had a bye week and we're banged up, I don't see any reason we can't win out. We have 2 weeks to prepare for KY since we play Charlotte before them and Vandy is terrible. Mizzou isn't very good and their defense is crap. So none of them scare me.

This is how I feel. All are winnable but almost no way we win them all. Sadly, we are due for the inevitable dud game against a lesser opponent.

I won't say almost no way, but I agree it's likelier than not that we lose at least one of them...I'm looking for 2 of the 4.

Agreed. It’s an interesting change. Kiffin, Dooley and Jones were all content to do what it took to keep the scores close to the degree they were able, but it meant absolutely nothing for the direction of the program.

Pruitt made the tough gamble calls at various points in those games that he thought were necessary for us to win those and we basically were burned every time. He didn’t care about losing by a wide margin - a loss is a loss. And then he called out the players and had held them publicly accountable for executing their assignments in those games and moments. Jones did that maybe once in a big game (Oregon?) in his whole tenure.

It’s a complete 180 with Pruitt. I like it. I like the brand of ball we play with him. We will get more players that fit his system and we will win some good ballgames and have a good time. No idea whether we will win another championship but I will enjoy watching it and I think we will have a team to be proud of.

Our last coach was repeatedly criticized for calling out players, once we realized he wasn't going to get it done.
