Hahaha. They are down on Chaney 7 games removed from a national title appearance.

To be honest, this is what society has come to. I like when Georgia fans aren't happy, but it's one game against a good team, and their program is in good shape.

That's the danger for a coach taking over an already stacked (relatively speaking) team and then having such significant success in year two. Kirby (and his coaches) is a victim of his own success now. Every year that he's not in the playoffs will be a failure to UGA fans. And really, only Saban and maybe Dabo (due to the weakass ACC) can get there consistently.

I bet Pruitt is much happier in his situation than Kirby. Kirby can win 11 regular season games, lose the SECCG, and be viewed as a failure right now. Whereas Pruitt can go 5-7 or 6-6 this year and 8-4 next year and have a happy fanbase behind him.

And all that to say that the next Bama coach is screwed. Who wants to follow Saban?

A former co-worker friends is a die hard UGA fan and he hated the Kirby hire and all through 2016 ridiculed him as being an idiot.

Last year, obviously, he changed his mind and considered him the next Saban.

Haven't spoken to him in a while to determine where his thought lies now. But I wonder if UGA loses another game or two, how much of that shine will be off Smart/UGA to the point where it every damned high 4 star 5 star kid commits to them.

Will Jauan Jennings be back next season?

Probably not. I remember the VQ mods specifically pointing to Jennings and DWA as wanting to be in the league next year. I'm assuming that came from direct convos with both players.

It's looking like DWA won't have a choice but to come back, unless he has a monster 2nd half. He's not been able to show off his receiving/athletic talents and has been underwhelming as a blocker, so he might not be too appealing as a one dimensional receiving TE considering he has maybe 4 receptions all year. Whereas if he came back next year, we could make him a focal point of the offense. Need to get the OL settled first.

Jennings... idk if he'd warrant high draft pick consideration considering his inability to get separation. His size is a huge plus, and teams like San Diego and it looks like Minnesota now, have made a living out of signing big strong receivers. On the one hand, I think if he does, we'll still be in good hands with Jordan Murphy and Josh Palmer plus hopefully Jalen McClesky/Javonta Payton with young bucks like Ramel Keyton and Cedric Tillman in the wings. On the other hand... Jennings has such an infectious mentality and I think that rubs off on our team. Couple that with his uncanny ability to just make big plays and I think we're a much better team with him on the roster. He's a guy that, when he leaves, I will always root and we as fans will likely always reference when talking about Vol greats. One of the few bright spots in an otherwise **** era of Vols football.

You know I was thinking back to CBJ's first team and I think this team has been both worse and better than that one. Worse in how they started out but better in that we're seeing progress week to week,

You watch the game ? 1 went to the locker room, never seen the other one back in the game. Their at least questionable.
I didn’t. I was more poking fun at the ominous tone of the OP. Almost sounded like something was about to go down.

JG and the WRs had to have earned the coaches' trust. They executed at a high level. But I'm guessing they'll dial it back against Bama and try to get the running game going. Hope Helton stays on the sideline. He'd rather call plays from the box, but it helped having him interact with the players.
Well, I for one hope that doesn't happen. I really feel they need to test out if they can open up the offense against Bama. I know it is a chance of getting boat raced but running the ball hasn't been our strong suit against these types of defenses. I want more play action and let JG take the team on his back.

If we ever get back to winning 9-12 games a season, this board will overreact just like Georgia's. In just 3 weeks, we've gone from chicken little to johnny bravo, with people acting like this weekend's game is even going to be competitive. I do think we've got a good shot to win in all the other games, but this Bama squad is truly elite. Barring any major injuries to Tua, I think this Bama squad could be viewed as one of Saban's best. I'm going to watch, but I have absolutely 0 expectations of anything other than a 42 - 7 rout.

I don't think I fully appreciated Josh Palmers two receptions in the game until just now, watching them on that youtube video Ron posted. Both of them were very difficult catches that required a ton of concentration. And to think, this kid couldn't catch a cold last year. For him to make those two big time receptions is a testament of how David Johnson helps these kids reach their potential.
