Just checking back since yesterday morning. What a great win for us!! Hopefully, we can keep it respectable next week, and finish the season out strong a make a bowl!!

Sadly, we lost our semi final 12u football game by a score. I could tell during warms up we weren't gonna get it done. Half our kids just weren't in it. I don't normally bitch about officials, but we had the worst game called against us all year. Other team had one flag, and they didn't wanna throw it til I went ballistic after one of our receivers was tackled on a wheel route.
Found out after the game the crew were all from the hometown of the team we played...and it was blatant who they wanted to win. Sad.

For everyone who is complaining about the first down play calling....would you rather have 2nd and 8/9 with the RB setting up play action or 2nd and 16/17 after the QB is sacked?

The way this OL protects sometimes the second is likely and I, personally, like our chances at converting 2nd and 8/9 better than 2nd and 16/17. Plus, it protects the players mentally from “here we go again.”

Just something to think about....

Quote from AUB players

He made some surprisingly good throws. Not going to lie,” Auburn linebacker Deshaun Davis said. “I don’t think he’s a terrible quarterback, but the way he played today, he kind of superseded what I thought his arm talent and his accuracy was. Kudos to him. He made some good throws and receivers made some great downfield plays for him. So that’s kind of what they wanted to do after we stopped the run, and they had success with it, so I would have kept doing the same thing also.

“I mean, they had some tall receivers, so it really kind of just was catch and throw,” Auburn safety Jeremiah Dinson said. “The receivers went up and they made plays, so kudos to them. Just got to play better.”

Except it doesn’t set up the PA because we’re in obvious passing situations for 2nd and 3rd down. The only time it sets up a PA is pope vs UF (4th and short) and the one yesterday in the 4th quarter on first down. We never catch the defense off guard with our PA’s

Helton--- man, I was super hot at that dude yesterday, especially when it was starting to look like we could pull this off. I am not going to let up on him just because someone apparently got to him in the second half.

Thank goodness you're going to keep on him. I'm sure that will pay dividends for this team down the road.

:p

It’s been a very long time, but when we line up for a FG now, I’m not really nervous.

Also Joe Doyle’s squirrelly punts that roll forever and negate a return are awesome.

I remember VQ was not optimistic at all about our foot game before the season. Seems about right

To be completely fair, I saw a whole lot more of our ST play before the season than anyone from VQ did and I thought it was going to be “turrble”.

It’s a nice surprise to see it coming together.

I’m not gonna lie, I let my BVS creep in towards the end. Had an Auburn buddy text me around 5 min left and he was like it’s over, great win. I told him I don’t celebrate until the clock hits zero and even then I check for flags before celebrating. After it was over I finally let out a sigh and celebrated. Probably gonna re-watch it today.

I was waiting for some obscure rule to be cited that gave Auburn possession after we recovered the onside kick, lol.
