The thing I really don’t understand is why he Dems are willing to die on this hill , K s just replacing Kennedy the court doesn’t change from what it was just by adding K . The one that replaces RBG is the hill you have defend, that’s the one that could change everything .

Well, If there is a bigger picture or a calculated loss in this, it has to be the female vote. That's all I can imagine, anyway.

What I heard finally, was they offered to have someone or several someones from Grassley's STAFF fly out to interview her in case she prefers that to doing it before the Senate committee.

So she actually has FOUR options:

- in Washington, public or private

- in Cali, public or private

So, what happens if Ford goes through with the hearing on Monday and is an emotional--but entirely believable--wreck and sobbingly asks for the Senate to treat her allegations with the seriousness they deserve (i.e., FBI investigation)? Does the judiciary committee still proceed with the vote or pause and ask for an FBI investigation?

Get back to me when her lawyer says she wants to sit down with the FBI first so they get some information on what to investigate. I'm with Jonathan Turley on this one.

It would be quite the spectacle. Grassley, in my opinion isn't thinking about the optics, in an open session.

Who knows. Betting we won't find out.

What if Kavanaugh is entirely believable in his denial - oh that's right, it's impossible.

It's very likely he'll be believable. But the chances that his denial with pull emotional heartstrings is fairly minimal. Denials just typically don't have that impact.

Exactly.
If she even makes an appearance Kavanaugh is guilty and should register if not be jailed.




And that's before the FBI is even ask to investigate.

Democrats will come out with another stall tactic. Another last minute discovery or change from Ford to delay delay delay.

I agree - they already shown the playbook in how they are framing this. If the confirmation goes through - they'll campaign on the War on Women harder than ever. If they shoot it down, they won the first round of Kennedy replacement battle.

The press is on their side because of the #metoo era and virtually none are calling the Dems on their Ellison and other hypocrisy because of the bigger buy in of the #metoo situation. Hell, most of the major media companies have had verified #metoo situations so they sure as hell aren't going to question the fairness of "a woman must always be believed and the man never believed"
