Unless we come out and run a hitch n go with Calloway against a team like UF and catch them biting. That could set up a very easy 6 points in a spot where you really need it.

I think we are setting it up for future games that are more important. Calloway is going to win the 1 on 1 against ETSU and UTEP. Have it on film, then burn someone who bites against Florida or Georgia.

The RB was already at the line of scrimmage with the ball. Hayes knew Marcus didn’t have the ball.

Even as bad as UTEP is, 30 points are way too much for me to take with the Vols. I'll keep an eye on the halftime lines and see if there might be some value. But there are a lot more appetizing numbers for me to take. I will gladly bet on the Vols when the timing is right however. Really curious to see which way the line opens up and moves for the Florida game.

You can’t wait to make sure the QB doesn’t have the ball to decide to hit him. Hayes either had QB contain or outside leverage assignment there so that’s his job.

If you don’t want your qb hit, find a qb who doesn’t need the read option to be effective. He is fair game on that play.

It could be a number of things. Do they trust or does JG like throwing inside the hashes. Some QBs don’t. Kirk cousins almost exclusively throws in the middle. That’s why his TEs and slot guys have so many catches.

Usually the middle route is rarely going to be the first progression. Usually 2nd at best unless you’re running a pop pass to your TE or like a seam from the slot/TE. So that’s where pass protection plays a part.

Also it depends on the coverage too. Wvu played a lot of soft shell with a center fielder the whole time so it basically took it away.

After watching the ETSU game I would actually take the Vols to cover the 30 points. CJP isn't showing signs of letting off the gas when we're up big. Heck, there was even a thread after the game about it being classless. I wouldn't be surprised to see a score similar to the ETSU game. Or worse.

Edit - not that it matters. And i don't care that you claim to be a realist, I think you enjoy being a contrarian like Bruin does. To each their own. I'm terrible with names. But I can remember places and conversations forever, just wired that way. And I can remember inconsistencies in folks because it bugs the crap out of me.
