Amateur Hour Continues

No, you use that term to inflict maximum negative connotations because of that association. You and others have been duped into taking up the battle of the capitalists. We will have a better society if we have a healthy and educated population. You rail against clean air, the environment to promote capitalistic greed at the expense of health, education, and the environment. There is a balance but you cannot give the keys to the wellbeing of American society to the corporate masters and expect to be a healthy and educated society.

I use the term for what it is and what it has been associated with throughout history . How many times does an idiology have to fail before we throw it on the scrap pile ? Before you start naming small countries that are mostly of one descent , don’t . This country was not founded on socialism , it didn’t grow to become what it is today because of socialism . Now if you want to talk about some sort of hybrid that may work if chosen carefully and not fall into the trap of “ free everything “ a Capitalist economy will self correct a socialist economy will not then you must depend on the Government and we all know how much they suck at running things .

I don't think Trump's presidency is "catastrophic", I find it closer to embarrassing/hilarious. They should be playing Benny hill instead of the national anthem. Policy wise, he's done some things I agree with, other things I don't. There will always be those stuck in the tribalistic mindset that will categorically hate anything and everything the president does due to party affiliation. America is too big to fail, if I may steal that phrase. And I don't mean it will never fail; history has proven every empire will eventually fall. I just don't see it happening any time soon, that's for the doomsayers on both sides of the aisle. The right did it when Obama was president and the left is doing it now with Trump. The truth is, neither is big enough to destroy this country. No one singular president is. What will destroy this country in the end is the combined effort of dozens of presidents and a government in general that, over the course of a great deal of time, have no qualms with increasing the debt until one day our status as top dog falters and won't protect us from the consequences.

Some advice to the libs, Trump is not the monster under the bed. He will come and go and not much will change overall. Stop taking the bait and responding to his unhinged ramblings with your own unhinged rants. It's a terrible look.

Some advice to the Trump nuthuggers, stop trying so hard to defend this doofus for every little criticism. The guy is an elitist New York Democrat who you folks voted for only because he wasn't Hillary, which isn't even something to fault you over. But the incessant turd polishing is not a good look either. In the end everyone looks like giant hypocrites.

We're all gonna be ok.

If socialism and its tenets are good, how can the word be used for max damage? Are you not making a case for socialism in your post?
There is a balance. Pure Capitalism or Pure Socialism have never been successful. Doing away with all laws and regulations governing industry is stupid at best, maybe catastrophic.

Name one country or civilization that was pure capitalistic? How many do we have today? Do you even know how socialist a tax is? Are you suggesting No government and pure capitalism is the way to go?

Ok so ...free health care , free education , open borders , free retirement , vacations for everyone . What are you going to call this system and who will pay for it ? Keep in mind there has to be a government and the elites will be the ones in control ( still ) no matter what your system is called .

I thought the balance betwixt the two was well planned and exquisitely outlined in our Constitution.

Perhaps you can let the dictionary editors know you disagree with the definition.
...involving or causing sudden great damage or suffering.
The dictionary editors claimed to already know.

"any misfortune, mishap, or failure; fiasco:" The play was so poor our whole evening was a catastrophe.

Went strait to jumping the shark with your false narratives when faced with your own beliefs. Draining the swamp is not a priority for you as long as you don't have to contribute to a better society. Healthcare reform, Education reform, border security, are needed but you have to go to the extremes to try to make a point.

They will inevitably blend together.

Free stuff provide by the government is called SOCIALISM . The things you mentioned Healthcare Reform , border security , Education reform is and should be a part of our government right now the way it is . Reform isn’t bad that’s a good thing .

Where if you're not joking? We have a Supreme Court that has to interpret it and they are divided on everything.

More constituionists are being added as we speak . I just don’t see how that can be a bad thing .

What is a tax? What is its purpose? "Free stuff"? Jumping the shark again.

A tax was added to help pay for things . But we still have a capitalistic government . Socialism will work at first it always does but in the end it will simply come down to basic numbers . You can only rob peter to pay Paul for so long before peter is broke .

I wasn't talking to you. I'm talking to McDad whom I know is a constitutionalist.

LOL sorry I didn’t mean to ruin your party by breaking the news that the last two judges are constitutionalists

Not joking. SCOTUS aside, I think it does a wonderful job outlining the Government and where our rights are protected. Thus, balancing our societal obligations (socialism) and our freedoms (to be capitalist or whatever).

I think some of the language could be cleared up to reflect society as it has become and not how it was. Also I think we are in agreement of some things that need to be added like term limits.

Term limits wouldn't bother me. Increasing the reps in Congress one hundred fold wouldn't either.
Agreed some of the language is outdated.

At your next mishap, I want you to exclaim as loudly as your comfortable, "what a catastrophe"! Then, look at the faces of the people who heard you.

Why would I do that? I only use the term when it's appropriate.
