Of the things we’ve seen so far from Pruitt, his roster management has been absolutely impeccable. We’ve lost only 2 guys, and he’s plugged holes at our major deficiencies on the team. Pruitt has been super careful with getting guys back from injuries as well. He’s making all the right moves imo from a roster standpoint.

He is really showing his HS background. Get your best guys on Fields somewhere. Don't have them on sidelines.

I'd expect more attrition after this fall though. We need the spots for one and everyone's on team will have a good idea of where the hey stand. Everything was so wide open that everyone felt they had a clean slate and chance.

anyone else think we shut down the Sills kid? Not so sure about Grier, he's obviously extremely talented, but I'm really not sold on Sills. We have too much speed IMO.
i do. Bracket coverage and disguised blitzing. Pruitt has improved takeaways in his FIRST YEAR everywhere he has been. Grier throws INTs. 2+ INTs in this game. book it.

After last year I'm not sure what to believe. I hope that with real coaching our guys play at a high level but for the last 10 years I've gotten my hopes up only to have them dashed again and again. Since my BVS is coming out in the open I hope that means it will reverse the course of the season for us. I want my kids to experience what I felt as a teenager through the 90's when you expected to win and knew we were a powerhouse.

We could but they still have a couple good WRs besides Stills.

The guy opposite him led the Big12 in receiving yards last year and they have a former Alabama WR who is now eligible that will be their 3rd guy this year.

That’s gonna be the matchup to watch. If our secondary can hold up, we’ll have a chance. Tall task for a bunch of young guys right out of the gate though. Should be fun! Need a pass rush to help those guys out back there

I’m really hopeful the defense is gonna be much improved. Like top 30-35 this year. We will soon find out if we have talent back there or not. I feel like Pruitt’s gonna be able to get the young guys up to speed pretty quickly.

*Zach Smith perks up*
Speaking of which, that executive session is going strong after almost 6 hours. You know they got in there, were like "so, he's keeping his job, right? And the current suspension will suffice as time served", and have just sat in there for the past 5.5 hours playing candy crush or something.

Maybe they are sampling the toy collection.

Probably trying to reach level 500

yeah totally agreed. Youngins, especially in the secondary, gunna be looking like upperclassmen by game 6 IMO. I think it's dependent on the pass rush whether or not we are a top 30 defense.

yeah, they do have some other talented WR's. Think if we shut down sills though, we win the game. obviously gotta worry about all 11 guys on the field, but Sills IMO is the key for them. If they don't get early rhythm going it'll be a long day for them. Agreed about the pass rush, it's imperative.

I think if we can get a couple big hits on Grier early, we could jump out to a potential 2 score lead early. It's what I predict will happen. Question is, can we maintain the lead? or does our youth make some mistakes and let them back in the game?

I just cant wait

get your head right!!! it's almost game week!!!

As much as I'm hoping we beat WVU, to think we're gonna crush a team with the likely lead Heisman candidate and an all american WR is irrational. Even if their defense is weak, can we beat them in a shootout? It's gonna take one hell of a performance from a lot of unproven dudes to beat WVU on a neutral field.

I just don't want to hear any "Pruitt's not the guy" BS on Sunday if we lose to WVU. Overhyping before the games leads to unmet expectations that are probably unfair.

Okay, not being a smart arse or dumb arse, but why does everyone think we are going to lose to SC? Is it game placement (coming off murder row and away)? I simply HATE Muschump!

My opinion is that we'll be dealing with the (very real) Bama hangover, and they'll be coming off a bye week. The more I think about it, that's my only real justification. We won't get blown out, it'll be an ugly 20-17 type game. Would absolutely love to be wrong of course.
