WVU had the worst run defense in the Big 12 last year. They brought in some transfers, but they're not going to be a defensive powerhouse. We're going to run right at them all afternoon unless they can stop us. We haven't played smashmouth SEC football in a while, but here it comes.

We’re going to attempt to be a power running team. For that, you need a guy who can set up the offense and check to the appropriate protections/slides. When we do pass it’ll be play action/screens/get the ball out quickly.

Frankly they just want the guy who won’t get them beat.

Like many here, I want it to be JG. I want that because I want the wow factor and a superior arm is a must for that.
However, unlike some, I'm not going to be upset if it's Chryst because of what you said in this post. *IF Guarantano doesn't win the job, I assume it's going to be because he doesn't read the defenses etc; well enough. And while I will be disappointed, an amazing arm can't makeup for certain issues.
WTS, I hope JG gains control over all the aspects and becomes what we thought he could be.

I know several people on here have mentioned that Swain (and Ainge) get more access than other media members because they are former players. Does anyone know that for sure or do we assume that? Has Swain said that he gets greater access than say Simonton or Fortenberry?

Where is the line between former player and media member? Or has Swain shown this staff already that he won't talk about things that they don't want talked about?

I don't see Pruitt as someone who would tolerate a significant leak in his program, even a former player who is now a member of the local media.

I still think it would be best for Chryst to start and have JG beat him out during the season.

Name any other school who gets that schedule ....plus we bookend those three with UF and USC
Fulmer needs to take a trip to Birmingham and say we are sick of this **** of our toughest games all being clumped together inOctober

Yep I am all for flipping the FL or GA game with the KY or Mizzou game. That way we could really build up the hype train before the TSiO.

that's the frustrating thing for us, it's just stories.

now, i'll admit, it worries me a little that all the stories are bad....lol. my head says "welp, here we go" my heart says "we're sandbagging".

Go with your head..It is obvious that the QB situation is just a big pile of crap no matter which one gets the nod.

If anything else having a veteran qb from a great program that has received top tier coaching should be an example to JG what it looks like to work in practice, film room, etc. it’s up to JG to do that and from what I’m hearing he’s still struggling with adversity and the leadership qualities you want in a QB.
The good thing is, I’m confident the coaches are letting him know what his deficiencies are and working with him to correct them instead of just blowing smoke up his arse.

Every year when this happens, all we here is that the SEC doesn’t want to move any of our games from October because it would mess up OTHER teams schedules or make THEM have to
Play too many of THEIR rivals or tougher games together. And, we just sit back and say....oh that’s ok...just keep doing it to us.....screw that...
maybe now Pruitt and Fulmer will have enuf collective balls to fight this with the conf office. If nothing else, our conference west rotator could be moved to November and Mizzou or Kentucky to October.

I’m surprised McBride didn’t already leave TBH.
I’m not sure he really stands to benefit to transfer before the season ends. He’s probably gonna have to sit out 2019 if he does anyway. So either he gets a RS here this year and sits out his RS Sophomore year it plays some here this year as a backup and redshirts while sitting out next year.

Either way, he would have 3 years to play 2 at his next school. But if he sticks around maybe he gets a shot if somebody transfers or is injured and can gain some experience.
