Yeah, he absolutely has to figure out a way to hit his driver more consistently. If he does that and can keep the rest of his game at the level he has it, he is going to win multiple times over the next few years. What he found yesterday was the it factor that he used to have… Being able to score when he had nowhere near his best stuff, especially off the tee. That is why he was so fun to watch in his prime… He could win even when he did not have anything close to his best stuff. The it factor that he has is unmatched by anyone. Put almost any other player and all of the positions that he was in yesterday, and I would venture to guess that they do not break par. Some of these guys saying that he is a washed up has been have no clue what they watched yesterday. Yesterday is the reason the media hype him so much and the reason golf is where it is today...When he is healthy, he just does things that no one else can do on the golf course.

"Unmatched by anyone." You must have missed watching the final round of the British Open last year or the US Open this year. Players like Spieth and Koepka will not be denied when they have their best stuff. Tiger is not competing with the likes of Bob May, Chris DiMarco, Y E Yang, or a rookie Sergio Garcia in majors any more.

Tiger putted poorly for most of this year and won nothing. Is his putter really back, or was yesterday a fluke? Only time will tell.

Not sure what you were watching yesterday. This is not true in the tournaments that count (aside from maybe the Masters). Tiger was so wide on his tee shots that he was finding trampled lies from the gallery. Otherwise, the rough was a penalty.
So he was using his mass of hypnotized zombies as cheat eh?😁

I don't understand why so many posters on here are so defensive anytime someone suggests JG might not be the guy. Is it because of a sense of loyalty because we've been following the guy since he was a junior in high school? I swear some of you all act like he's at Dobbs level, and there's no way. JG was terrible last year just like the majority of his teammates. He could not nail one of the fundamental areas of QBing, which is getting rid of the ball before you hit the ground.

We should all welcome any reports that KC is getting a heavy look at QB1. It means there's strong competition, and it should test one of JG's seeming weaknesses (mental toughness), which we saw on display during the GT game last year. Pruitt comes from the Saban system, and what do the majority of Saban qbs have in common? Game Managers. If KC comes in here and leads a team like AJ McCarron, then I don't need a dude with a rocket arm that throws 50 yard bombs. I just want to win games, so I don't care who throws the ball as long as they are touchdowns.

It blows my mind that dudes in here are arguing with Hank's opinion when they have nowhere near the level of access he has. Your knowledge and access is what leads me to respect what you say, so sorry if your subscription to 24/7 and some repeat youtube views of Pruitt's press conferences aren't convincing.
I don't know why some feel the need to assume some weakness because of a screenshot in the GT game last year. And having a bad freshman season where he had objectively bad coaching and play calling with an OL that was decimated by injuries does not mean he can't live up to his potential. I'm not rooting against KC. I agree that he helps increase competition and depth. I think JG has a far higher ceiling and I'm confident Helton can help him reach that. I think JG will earn the job and win some games for us. It's my opinion. You obviously don't like JG because of that screenshot so you would probably not mind him fading away. That's fine. I don't get the butt hurt over that screenshot but that's yer opinion. Cool. State it and I'll state mine.

As far as the assumption that Pruitt wants game managers because of saban, I think that's a little over blown. I mean of course he doesn't want turnovers, no coach does, but before saban he worked for Propst, who is known for his explosive offense. And the 2 guys he hired to design and run the offense, Helton and Friend, are also both known for explosive offenses. Go watch CSU the past couple years and tell me Friend calls a game manager type offense. Go watch Helton everywhere he's been and accuse any of his qbs of being game managers. Even the analyst he hired to help design the offense, Joe O, ran probably the most explosive offense in Juco the past few years.

I don't see the point in getting worked up over who might start. I'll just trust the coaches to put out who they think give us the best chance to win.

With Pruitt’s track record I have a lot more faith in him, but Butch absolutely torched this line of thinking for me.

Don't know how to bring it over here. Do yourself a favor and go to FF. Practice #8 I posted a lil bit ago. The vid of Trey Smith knocking someone on their but with the medicine ball. At the end of vid he is working on the left. Then you see some other big body flying to the dirt. And he is not even cleared for contact. Dayum boyz he looks ready to dominate.

To me it seems like JG hasn't done anything to lose snaps from whats been said, so KC getting more reps especially in a scrimmage seems like they want to see what they have in him. Not necessarily that he overtook JG. That explanation makes more sense to me than hearing JG has been playing better all camp but all the sudden KC leads after one practice. I could see him taking advantage of this opportunity and earning more reps going forward. But I still think JG will earn the job.

And that may be the case. You have to see what you have in both guys in close to as real game scenario as you can.

What worries me if we’re seeing and hearing negative reports from yesterday about holding the ball too long, composure/body language (things he struggled with last year) and turnovers. It’s just one scrimmage but it gives me cause for concern.

I may differ in this opinion but i value what happens in a closed scrimmage over anything in a weekly practice individually. There’s a reason coaches close It and want to make it as gamelike as possible, especially for QBs. A lot of drills and skeleton work will simply favor the qb that has better arm talent but not the better QB. So when the “lights came on” it seemed that they may have valued KCs poise and experience more (my opinion) by giving him the bulk and JG reverted back to some of his old ways. That’s really all we have to go by until the next scrimmage really

Maybe I should have said our current coaches :)

I knew somebody was going to remind me of something I didn't want to remember. This time last year while we were divided into the QD & JG camps we mostly dismissed our QB competition because with 2 incredible blue chip QBs how could anything go wrong? I'm not as worried this time though. If we find out the two guys we're arguing over are flat out busts we've got an ace in the hole this year. The kid with maybe the best arm talent on the team, according to CJP, is waiting in the wings. #FreeJT

yep. that's the point of the scrimmage. get out there and see what happens when you go as live as possible.

And you just proved my point. Spieth and Koepka won’t be denied when they have their best stuff? Tiger didn’t have his best stuff yday, but still shot the lowest score in the final round. That’s an it factor that is unmatched...his it factor is being about grind out the best possible score when things are firing on all cylinders. That’s what separated him from everyone for over a decade. When he didn’t have everything working, he won because he outwilled everyone. Case in point...winning the 2008 US Open with a fractured tibia and no ACL. When everything was working, he blew fields away.
