Jordan also wasn't a little b.

Jordan kept Isaiah off the Olympic team because he didn’t want him on there. Every star player whines and expects calls. That goes for every sport.

I can handle the Jordan 1 Lebron 2 argument. But if Lebron isn’t 2 then you are just lying to yourself.

Every team Lebron leaves instantly goes to crap. The Cavs went from title contender to #1 overall pick (kyrie Irving). The heat go from finals to missing the playoffs. the bulls won 2 less games the year after Jordan went to baseball. They were still very good.

Lebron has been the best player in the NBA since he got in the league pretty much.

Oh so he isn't as mean as they were so I guess a 6'9 260 pound locomotive wouldn't have been able to get much done back then lol. He'd dominate the league back then just like he has today's league for the last 15 years.

I’m not saying he isn’t great. But he isn’t as mentally tough as Jordan. Those guys would have had him going into fits whining about getting fouled.

"Lebron needs more leadership reps? I'm on it."

Probably because he didn't want to get kissed at mid court.

Yeah. It wasn't like it is now where these guys are all friends and try to team up.

Back then you hated your rivals and wanted to beat them.

Now it's all about staying healthy and playing in whichever city has the best strip clubs.

I'm starting to wonder how much basketball people on the board watch. Most of what's being discussed sounds like Skip and Stephen A regurgitated garbage or bloviating about basketball after watching Sportscenter each night. Hank Hill is on the mark about this. The NBA has never had the current level of shooting. Think about it. In the 80s and 90s, there were good perimeter shooters, but anyone at the 4 or 5 was only expected to bang down low and post. Now we have 7 footers that can kill threes. You're basically phased out of the NBA if you can't shoot from three or midrange, unless you're some defensive power like Rudy Gobert or Andre Roberson.

So tired of "everyone was tougher in the past". No, that's not a fact. It's an opinion. There is no quantifiable way to prove that. The NBA players are still tough. The league is the one who neutered the rules by getting rid of handchecking and more rigidly enforcing flagrant fouls. The game is better for it. Basketball is a game of skill with the physicality being a factor. Not the other way around.

Don't say anything negative about LeBron in regard to play. He's one of the greatest of all time. You'll see that when he puts this below-average Cavs team on his back and carries them to the Finals. Just like he has done every year since 2011. Jordan and the Bulls played some good teams (stockton/malone jazz, Barkley Suns), but he never had to play against the Warriors. Remember that time that they won more games than anyone ever did, and then they added the second best all around player in the league to their team? Saying LeBron is trash should be a one-way ticket out of any sports related message board.

I don't agree with that at all. James is bigger and stronger than every player on those Pistons teams. Seriously doubt they could overwhelm him physically.

Lebron was not bigger and stronger than Every player on those teams. Bill Laimbeer and Rick Mahorn would have tossed lebron around like they did everybody else. He would have matched up physically more with Rodman, but Rodman would have made his life miserable. You could make the argument that those Pistons teams helped make Jordan into the force he became by going through what they put him through. And that due to all the rule and style changes Lebron never "got" to survive something like that to sharpen his edge. But yer point that I am quoting here is pretty false.

That Bad Boy Team would put a hurting on the finesse style of basketball played today

Truth. Curry, KD, Westbrook and almost every other player in the league going in for a layup would get some of this from Laimbeer.

P.S. I can't believe the guy that got fouled here actually completed the dunk while getting the ultimate cheap shot

Completely disagree. James would likely be even better in the old NBA because he would be allowed to use his size and strength more to his advantage than he can in present day NBA.

Absolutely. I can't believe that didn't incite a riot...I wouldn't have been surprised if people came out of the stands after that.

While I used that as an exaggeration of the Bad Boys' antics, I obviously don't condone it...and couldn't stand the Pistons because I felt like they went over the line at times.

I don’t think you understand how elite KD and Westbrook are. And Steph wouldn’t have to drive it. He would rain 3s on them all day lol

In sports, every generation is superior to those before it. Some of us may choose not to believe that because of the influence watching it had on our formative years, but I think it’s very evident.

As technology, sports nutrition, analytics, financial investment etc... all improve in sports, so do the athletes.

In another 30 years, there will be players that vastly exceed Jordan and LeBron, yet the same old arguments will linger.
