The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Good Lord. Hit a fly in the a** at 500 yards with that thing.

Remind me to never run afoul of you...

You know, that rifle is fun to shoot but not so much at 100 yards. I can shoot 100 yrds here at the house but not much farther. My favorite AR is the SBR. It was worth every penny of the $200 for the stamp.

I get the SBR love. Coming from the military and LE, I never had to deal with the ATF rules. Back when I could run with the herd, we had suppressed MP5's. Wicked cool.

My S.O changed over to AR's years back. The patrol deputies have standard issue; the SRT has suppressed SBR's. I got to shoot one at one of the quarterly range quals last November. Again, wicked cool.

Since I'm part-time now, I carry my own rifle, which the S.O. allows if you qualify on it. I started with a stock Colt 6721, and thanks to local influence and GV, have ended up with a patrol rifle I have a lot of confidence in. Personally, I love the HBAR. It's hyper-accurate at what would likely be my engagement range of 100 yds or less.

Responsible gun owners like yourself and others here, who buy and/or build tricked out / SBR / suppressed AR's don't cost me a wink of sleep. I know I will never, ever have to confront you. Contrary to the claims of the useful idiots and the liberal media, you are not the problem. Nor are your guns. I know where my threat axis is.

There's a reason why the British failed, and the Nazi's, Japanese, and Soviets were wise enough to not even think about invading this nation.

You are that reason.

Smith and Wesson M&P10. Likely will run you about $1,100-1,300 or so. Lots of parts interchange with the -15 series (stocks, mid length handguards, triggers, etc) and easy to scope and accessorize.

Parting it together might be a little cheaper, but S&W has a good service department and is good about quality.

No, I don't recommend DPMS regardless of the flavor, though that's a personal thing with me.

Thanks, I've been interested in doing a build but I really don't have the time now. It's something I would like to do though.

We have to do something about those handguards...

I'm thinking a nice, simple smooth tube style or a keymod.

I do, and that was the first thing I noticed. Took the sling off. There are a couple of options with that stock, so I'll play with it and see what works best.

Sounds like you have need of hand guards with a built in QD socket and a padded Vickers CAS...

I think I’m going quad rail on my new bushy m4. I don’t like the setup of the light and forgrip and how they are too close.

I've got a buddy that wants to upgrade his trigger on his AR from the mil-spec. He doesn't want to spend $200. Any suggestions on something decent between the SSA and a mil-spec?

Friends of mine have told me that they have found the SSA for as low as $160 on Brownell's. What I have learned, which is not much, is that if you are patient and willing to shop around on the internet, you can hit some really good deals.

He doesn't care for the two stage trigger. I like it, personally. He'd like to keep it around $100 too.

ALG Defense ACT.

Way smoother than a standard trigger, but won't break the bank. It says no lower than 5.5 pounds, but it's nice with a clean break.
