Why? There’s probably 50 people at this church, no one would have known about this until the NYT deemed it worthy of printing.

I haven't lived there since sixth grade, been back a handful of times but never found a reason to be in a hurry to do so. My fam was from Bolivar, born in Jackson.

In a sense, this encapsulizes a lot of things we are seeing these days, including the election of Trump. The people that would do this -- show up as a couple with AR-15s to be "blessed" by some wacko cult leader as though they are the rod of God from Revelations shows just how far the mainstream of 50 years ago is now so far out of whack with reality.

There are people whose social and intellectual development has been arrested in a 1950s America. Even an 1850s America, where they cling to an overly romanticized vision of how important they are. Them and their dying breed of redneck values.

Funny thing is, they'll bemoan the way that society has changed and how they are honoring the way "things used to be" and how they have the moral highground, but they'll ***** on the way home to their wives about how they checked and the cable company still hasn't updated the wifi speed at home.

Its all such a fraud. Like this ceremony.

I think even they are a little bewildered by the absurdity of it.

It really boils down to simple things. There is a tremendous amount of people in this country who are sick and tired of people like you telling them how to live and deriding them because they choose to live and believe differently than you. Plus I'm sure it's amusing to them when you get your panties all in a wad over their publicity stunts.

Honest question. The state legislature is made up of citizens elected by the states voters right? And those legislators, elected by the people of the state, shot down the bill by a 2:1 ratio. So could one infer that the people shot that down as a whole or nah those leglislators weren’t elected by the people.

Doesn't matter to them. They kicked and screamed all the way there just for the adults to put them back in their place.

Now the real hissy fit starts because they didn't get their way and they'll add the women's march folks and every other group that hates Trump. They are so transparent at this point.

There are walkouts in the schools going on right now. BUT the admins and security people are with them and guarding them. I’m totally fine with that. Kids choosing to walk out when class is in session? Nope get your juvenile dependent ass back in that seat.
