USC OC Tee Martin 'disappointed' not to get interview with Tennessee

Based on Tee's inability to stop saying stupid **** as it relates to his alma mater I'm not convinced that he'd improve much with OJT. IMO he's far from ready to take over the TN FB program. Maybe in a few years, but he's so offended at being overlooked as a viable candidate maybe he'd never take the job if asked. I'm about as over USC's OC as I am with the Monday Night Football announcer.

Based on what I saw of USC’s offensive play calling in the bowl game, I think it was probably the worst called offensive game I have seen this year. He would have been a disaster for Tennessee.7

Not to kick Martin when he is down especially after the ass-kicking HIS USC offense took, but the below statement from Max Meyer sure does not help:

But the issues on offense also run deeper. USC’s game plan wasn’t exactly a challenge for Ohio State to counter. The Buckeyes had the clear advantage with their defensive line and were consistently able to generate pressure and throttle USC’s entire offense. Offensive coordinator Tee Martin’s schemes were questioned earlier in the season by Darnold, and Friday night didn’t offer much evidence that the situation had improved since October.

I believe we got the better Co-OC.

I will go with the one with a better resume. There is no debate who has a better one between Pruitt and Tee. And Tees playing career has zero to do with his coaching resume.

Part of his problem in the end was that Fulmer thought this was the case. Remember the "we've got some equity built up here" statement when asked about his job security in 2005

I was going to bring that up.
His score was embarrassingly low showing why, despite having NFL arm talent and measurables, he never produced. A coordinator needs a great mind and Martin sounds like a high school kid when he's interviewed. I said earlier this year, long before Butch was fired that Martin will be looking for work next year.

Cut worked well with athletic QBs who weren't that cerebral like Shuler.

Not sure which is worse: that you wrote this BS or that 15 people on this board liked it. Tee did more for the football team than you ever did. Without him, we would not have a National Championship trophy from the Fulmer years. You need to grow up or go away, 'cause you sure don't strike me as a true VFL.

Meh, I'm not going to trash one of our own. He's just simply not ready to be a HC IMO especially not in the SEC.

I will say, he ‘could’ be an HC somewhere, just not in a Power 5 conference just yet.

Well, there's the matter that Peyton Manning has donated and contributed to his alma mater, whereas Tee Martin has done little but disparage his alma mater with his actions and comments. THAT is exactly why he isnt as well thought of. One is a well known great representative of our university, the other isn't. No race card bs needed.

Beside a ‘disappointment’ quote in not being talked to about an HC position at UT, what exactly did Tee do or say to disparage UT?

He’s had zero actions that have been detrimental to the program. And please spare us the whole fake interview with Butch as an example. That was a publicity stunt by Butch to buy good graces. Tee made the smartest career decision to stay away from Butch.

He’s unqualified for UT head coaching job, but the guy has done absolutely nothing hurtful to UT.

So talking some smack about a player or players is ok then? Hell most coaches won't do that in general, much less about a player at his former school. And nobody thought he was a genius for turning butch down at the time, so stop acting like you did.

Perhaps disparaging was too strong a word, but he certainly hasn't gone out of his way to ingratiate himself since he left.
